ππ BVR Running Spotlight β Stuie ππ
Running has been far more than just miles for Stuie.
After being diagnosed with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at just 19, he spent a long time learning how to manage his health and the impact it had on his mental wellbeing. Discovering Couch to 5K gave him a way to gradually rebuild his fitness, confidence and sense of what he was capable of.
There have been ups and downs along the way, but running has remained something Stuie can come back to β helping him maintain his stamina, physical health and, importantly, his mental wellbeing.
π Favourite distance: 10K β challenging enough, but βnot so long that you want to throw yourself in a ditch halfway round!β π
πͺ Biggest challenge: Finding consistency around long, irregular working hours and his health β and learning that taking a break or having an easier week isnβt failure.
πββοΈπ΄ββοΈπββοΈ Next goal: Stuie is now beginning his triathlon journey, with a huge goal on the horizon β a 70.1 Ironman in 2027!
π What keeps him motivated? The positive impact running has on his mental health, the chance to explore new places, meet new people and, of course, chase those PBs.
And when asked the best thing about joining BVR?
βThe people. One thousand percent.β π
For Stuie, the support and sense of community β both in person and online β is what makes BVR special.
From Couch to 5K to an Ironman 70.1 goalβ¦ we canβt wait to see where the journey takes you next, Stuie! πππ
Letβs show Stuie some BVR love in the comments πππππ
