9am Saturday Morning Session.

26/05/2021

NEWS:
We are due to start the Saturday morning Kung Fu sessions on Saturday 5th June (ie. Next week, not this week). There are various reasons for this, but it means that we can get back to the 9 am - 10:30 am session time. With an hour and a half, we can spar by the third weeks, if Boris allows :)
Unit 24 are asking that we arrive no earlier than 5 min before our session starts. to avoid congestion/ lack of social distancing. that doesn't apply to the car park if you want to arrive early enough to ensure a space :)

All families have our sorrows to bear and we are no exception. Just received news of the passing of Haydon Larkin, who has been a friend for longer than I can accurately remember. I'm sure all of us will join together in wishing his family our sympathy and any support we can offer.

Just to be clear... Waverley is staying in tier 2, so Friday night's kick boxing tomorrow (18th) can go ahead and is the last one before new year. Aldershot is considered sufficiently safe (first time for everything) to be in tier 2. SO! Saturday morning session (19/12) can go ahead at 9am and is the last session before a new year. The only people who may not attend Saturday are those coming from a tier 3 area (unless their journey technically started before midnight Friday). People going into tier 3 at midnight Friday will be able to make kick boxing at 7:30pm Friday but should aim to be home before midnight. OBVIOUSLY none of this applies to you if you hold membership of the Tory party, as you can claim the 'Cummings amendment ' and make up your own rules to suit yourself, without fear of any hassle from the police. If, however you are able to claim this amendment and do attend the Saturday morning session, there will be the breaking of another safety requirement for you in respect of sparring !

Unfortunately we will have to suspend training for November, as per lockdown demands. Hopefully, group training might be able to resume after that and before the New Year (but I'm not holding my breath).
Keep safe and well, train as best you can and work flexibility (cos you can do that anywhere).
We'll all be back!

Just for this week arrive ready to train, but there will be changing rooms open. Masks optional, but might be a good idea on arrival/ leaving.

As if that last post wasn't exciting enough... we have the first Kung Fu session in 6 months TOMORROW morning … YAY!.. but at 8am, not 10! (yay?).
You have to enter via the big double doors at the back of the Centre (the ones that lead directly into the main sports hall)… check in, sanitise and track along the end wall into the badminton court under the balcony and out the doors to the corridor and directly into our room. Masks stay on all the way to the training room please (there are children training in the main hall).

There can be no sparring for the foreseeable future (breaks our license/ insurance rules) but we can do some pad work (strictly in pods) and all traditional work including weapons... so bring them along.
Again... I need to know who is attending in advance. If you want.. I can put you permanently on the attendance list... but PLEASE give me as much warning as poss if you can't be there.
