The more stress you carry, the less capacity your body has to adapt to anything else.
Want to push food to grow? 🚫
Your body shifts out of rest-and-digest, leading to digestive distress and a poor ability to absorb nutrients.
Want to lower calories to force fat loss? 🚫
An overactive sympathetic nervous system and high cortisol cause massive water retention, disrupted blood sugar, and a stubborn resistance to mobilising stored energy.
Want to raise training intensity? 🚫
Expect poor recovery, systemic central nervous system fatigue, and a heavily increased risk of injury.
Need to step up activity or cardio? 🚫
Your body will protect itself by downregulating hormones and subconsciously tanking your daily movement to save energy.

This is just one way in which digestive inflammation can impair fat loss.
The effect digestive inflammation has on elevated cortisol/high stress, leptin resistance and satiety disruption and how they im turn impair fat loss are for another day.
Want to get lean?
Want to grow efficiently?
Prioritise a healthy digestive system, don't ignore or continue to trigger inflammatory digestive responses.

What can a few months of really focusing on recovery, stress levels and digestion do?
Well about 4-5kg of fat loss going by James and Kate Everett progress.
Running your own business, parents to 2 young kids, and being perfectionist takes its toll - high stress, low recovery, and in turn digestive issues and a body (or bodies) that will fight fat loss.
Seriously f**k your basic calories in Vs. calories out. Thats an overview/simplification. The human body is not that basic.

Stress has a lot to answer for and these are just a few of the ways it can present itself but we don't run from it, its part of life and we need it to build resiliency and basically a f**king backbone.
We can however manage it so that we stay in control and direct our energy where we want it to go.
Learn to prioritise stress management you want to build the best version of yourself, both visually and mentally.
