Alcester Town Juniors

We are looking for a goalkeeper to join our Saturday team for the 26/27 season. A fantastic opportunity to play for a great club and a team that will be competing in the Mercian league for he 1st time after 5 years in the Ambassador League.
Training will be on a Thursday night's from 7-8.

With the summer holidays coming up, Alcester Town ETP have a fantastic summer camp running from the 27th July to 21st August. A great opportunity for all kids aged 5-14 to continue their footballing development. Contact details for the summer camp is below. ⚽️⚽️

So today was our final tournament that we entered. We went over to West Worcester in hope of continuing our very strong form in these tournaments this year.
We had a few new faces in the team but we started well and after the group stages were finished we had won 2, drew 3 meaning we finished 2nd and progressed through to the quarter finals.
In the quarter finals we faced a very strong Ledbury team and the game finished 0-0 and penalties were to decide the winners. After 3 pens each we were all level at 2-2 and into sudden death, thankfully our boys held their nerve and we finally won 6-5.
The semi finals we came up against Oldbury Tigers who we had faced in 2 other tournaments this season. Again after a crazy 10 minute match we were all square 2-2 and the dreaded penalties awaited. We stuck to the same order and we managed to win again this time only needing to take the 3 and it finished 3-2 to our boys.
In the final, we played Telford Uniteds team. A great team that we had earlier drawn 1-1 to in the group stages. Unfortunately this time the boys couldn't find away through and we lost 1-0.
Another great tournament for our boys, we are really proud of every single one of them. They gave their all, and being runners up is a fantastic achievement.

This weekend will see our u13s play the last tournament that we entered so far (hopefully i can find a few more for July🤣)
We will travel to West Worcester, a tournament we have never attended before and hopefully we can continue our successful tournament season by at least getting out of the group stages and into the semi finals.

We are fundraising to get our boys to Barcelona in October. A massive opportunity for our boys to play against international u14 players.

The boys only had the one tournament this weekend, and that was our home tournament at Alcester Town Football Club. 3 years ago we made it to the final and just couldn't get over the line and ended up runners up, since then we have struggled in this tournament and not managed to progress out of the group stages.
This year our boys were determined to continue our tournament record of getting to at least the semi finals. They knew it would be a tough ask as we were in a tough group.
After the group games had finished, we found ourselves 2nd and that meant we had qualified for the semi finals, and against another Alcester team.
The semi final was a close contest, both teams had a few good chances but couldn't get the goal needed as the game finished 0-0. A penalty shootout was needed to find a winner. Our boys held their nerve and scored both penalties as we progressed with a 2-1 penalty win.
Onto the final, and again against another Alcester team, this time it was Alcester Sunday Romans. We spoke to our boys before the final kicked off, talking about how they have again made some great memories to look back in, how they have made the final of their home tournament and shouldn't have any regrets whatever the outcome of the final should be.
Once the game started our u13s continued to put everything into becoming champions, which was hard work on a very hot day but the when the final whistle went, like the semi finals no team could find a winner as the game finished 0-0 and another penalty shootout was needed.
The romans took the 1st and Alessandro saved, then up stepped Harrison Oakley who put his penalty to the keepers left and we were 1-0 up. The romans then scored before Henry Freeman stepped up and put his penalty low to the keepers right 2-1 to our boys with 1 penalty each to go. The romans scored their final penalty meaning if we scored we were champions, up stepped Casey Forde-Lowden who put his penalty to the left of the romans goalkeeper and our boys win 3-2.
Another fantastic achievement from our boys, who have now won 2 tournaments in the last month. This was the tournament we have always wanted to win, and they have managed to do it at the final attempt as u13 is the final age group for this tournament.
So proud of these boys, not once did they complain about the heat, or playing out of position to help the team. They did as we asked and deserved their moment of glory 🏆🏆.
