What is this about? ⬇️
Several months ago, the managers and volunteers of The Crafty Lunch Club discussed the need to focus on raising funds for the club this year. As a result of that, an idea was born… but first some background…
The Coughton Community Choir (CCC) was set up post-COVID to help the local community re-connect with others and to enjoy the benefits of singing in a choir. Singing in a choir provides physical, mental, and social benefits. It boosts the immune system, lowers stress, releases endorphins and oxytocin, and improves mood.
Over the years the CCC has grown to over 30 members and has raised over £13,000 for local charities, predominantly through its performances.
The Crafty Lunch Club (TCLC) is a social and creative group for adults with learning and/or physical disabilities, a place to get together with carers to form friendships, socialise, take part in creative activities and have a two course meal. The staff and volunteers take great pleasure in seeing the positive impact these sessions have on those that attend.
The idea 💡
A collaboration 🩷. A CCC concert uniquely accompanied by some of the TCLC 🩷
This will be a very special and memorable event which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the audience and participates alike.
We can’t wait to see you!

There is still time to join our "Where are they now" warm up shirt sponsored by the Gurkhas at the Mother Huff competition. Closing date is September 1st. We have had one or dubious attempts to enter and the Judging committee have refused some on authenticity grounds. These two characters was spotted wearing the T-shirt it’s unclear if they were walking or running. fans
Match Report – Alcester Town Over 60s vs Stourport Swifts ⚽️
A comfortable 6-0 win for the boys tonight, although it could easily have been 10! 👍🏻
We've struggled against weaker teams before, but after working on why that happens, it was fantastic to see the lads put everything into practice. We kept our shape, stayed wide, didn't overcrowd the box, and showed real patience when attacks broke down. The result was some excellent football and plenty of chances.
Manager Roland Borriello said: "Our player of the Match was Martin Berliner, who was involved in most of our goals and did an excellent job holding the ball up and bringing others into play exactly as requested.
Close behind Martin was Yves Brown with a hatrick and Steve Emblem, who grabbed 2 goals and had a great game.
We've talked about keeping our shape, staying patient and making the pitch big, and tonight the team delivered exactly that. Martin led the line superbly and Yves and Steve took their chances well.
Most pleasing of all was seeing the team stick to the game plan from start to finish." fans

Lawn Bowls – Part 2!
This afternoon’s lawn bowls session was a real scorcher! Our Over 65s team had trained in the morning when conditions were still fairly bearable, but by 3pm the temperature had climbed to a sizzling 32°C. 🌞
Thankfully, the members of Alcester Town Walking Football are a hardy bunch and turned out in force to enjoy some cold drinks, tea, cake and lawn bowls – in that order, of course!
A huge thank you to everyone at Alcester Bowling Club for their warm welcome and for looking after us so well throughout the afternoon. Your hospitality was very much appreciated by all.
A fantastic afternoon of friendship, sport and plenty of sunshine! fansMayor of AlcesterAlcester Bowling Club
