🎾1st September is not only a brand new month but it's also an exciting one for Albrighton Tennis Club!🥁

Week commencing the 21st September we will be running

🚀LAUNCH WEEK🚀

The purpose of it is too invite as many people to our club and for them see what our club is about and to experience the coaching sessions with our head coach and 2026 Shropshire coach of the year Tim Calver.

It's open to all ages and abilities from 3 the youngest to adults. We're so excited aswell to launch some new sessions and that have made a difference to the communities across the tennis world.

Here's what's new with a with a small bio about them

🎾Walking Tennis🎾
Much more steadier pace of playing the sport. Designed for players who struggle with there mobility and recovering from injury rehabilitation.

🎾Ace The Basics Course🎾

This is a 4 week course for adults who are
starters or looking to get back into the sport. The course will cover the basic shots and play of the game!

🎾Female Focus🎾

A group designated for a ladies and girls coaching only. Perfect to get more ladies to play the sport aswell as socialise too!!

🎾Male Mindset🎾
It's a mens get together session. Designated for male players only or anyone to help there mental health.

🎾Players Spotlight🎾

We had some fantastic results from our juniors in last week's regional Shropshire County Championships.

We've had

William winning the 12U boys singles, not just winning it but beating the first seed and a player a year older than him!!

Milo and William winning the 12U boys doubles!!

Charlie who won the 9U and 10U doubles!! And winning Shropshire special award for sprit of tennis of the year!!

The future with this level of talented players is looking bright in a couple of years

Massive congratulations to each and every one of you and hope this level of success continues to all our juniors who have coaching at Albrighton Tennis Club!!

🥇🎾Top performance from one of our future talents Charlie Clifford who won today's 10U tournament beating players from Staffordshire and Warwickshire and ending up winning today's tournament!!🥇🎾

🎾 Shropshire Summer Doubles League - Weekly Update 🎾

Just the one game played in the doubles league this week, but it was a big one! Our Men’s 2nd team were at home to a strong Cound side and would need to be at their best to come away with a positive result.

The league is incredibly tight and a number of teams are fighting for promotion and relegation safety at the same time!

The lads battled away and came away with an impressive 3-1 win, with a fine champs tiebreak victory thrown in for good measure!

Well done to Tim, Jake, Tom and Charles for a top performance and a big thanks to everyone who came down to support!

The 2nds have their *final* game of the season on Thursday 20th August at home against Bridgnorth with all league connotations still possible! Good luck gents and all support is welcomed as per! 💪🏼🎾

🎾 Shropshire Summer Doubles League 🎾

Great 3-1 win last night for the Men’s 2nd team against league leaders Broseley!

A tightly contested champs tiebreak saw us turn a draw into a much needed away win - well done to Tom making his debut for the club, Tim, Dave and Jake for their performances.

The 2nd team have two fixtures remaining:

Home against Cound (12/08)
Home against Bridgnorth (20/08)

The league is incredibly tight and everything still to play for!

🎾 Shropshire Summer Doubles League 🎾

A big well done to our Ladies 1st team in securing promotion with a great 3-1 win against Boughey Gardens yesterday evening! 🆙🎾

Some great tennis on show and a big come back in the final rubber of the evening which saw Lynne and Bridget take a second set tie break to even the game and went on to win a nail-biting champs tie break!

No picture unfortunately(!), but well done to Lynne, Bridget, Alison and Rebecca for a top performance.

As with the all the teams, we will release a full season write up in the coming weeks once all teams have finished their league campaigns.

Two promotions in two evenings - let’s go ALTC! 🎾🏆

🎾 Shropshire Summer Doubles League 🎾

A big well done and congratulations to our Men’s 1st team who secured league promotion last night! Our lads battled out an entertaining 2-2 draw with a strong Worfield side.

The 1st team have picked up good results consistently this year and have been rewarded with a promotion back to Division 3, following last year’s county wide league restructure which saw us demoted to Division 4.

We will follow up with a full season review in the coming weeks, but the club are proud of everyone who competed for us this year - well done gentleman! 🆙🏆

Good luck to the Ladies 1st team who are also competing for promotion this evening in their final game of the season - let’s go ALTC! 🙏🏼🎾
