🏆 LEAGUE CUP ROUND-UP

Our League Cup campaign got off to a disappointing start with defeat to Cumbernauld Colts. We created plenty of chances on the day but just couldn’t take them.

Next up was Lenzie, and despite another defeat, it was a much stronger performance from the boys. At 2-2 the game could have gone either way, but unfortunately it was Lenzie who found the winner.

Game 3 took us away to Oakley, where we came away with a 6-5 win. Three points on the board, although despite the goals scored, it certainly wasn’t one we’d be rushing to watch back! 😅

Today’s final group game against Cumbernauld Colts was where it finally clicked. An excellent performance from the boys saw us come away from Broadwood with a 5-2 win. 💪

Despite conceding an early penalty, the heads never went down. We stuck to our game, got ourselves back into it and went on to take control. Some exceptional individual performances, a really strong team display and a couple of fantastic goals along the way. ⚽️🔥

The League Cup has given us four competitive games to get ourselves up and running, and now the focus switches to league duty next week as we get our 2026/27 season underway. 🔵⚫️

Greengairs 2–3 Lenzie

A sore one to take last night.

Despite finding ourselves 2–0 down at the break, we weren’t playing badly and were still well in the game.

The boys showed great character in the second half and battled their way back onto level terms through two goals from David.

At 2–2, both teams created plenty of chances and the game could have gone either way, but unfortunately for us it was Lenzie who managed to grab the winner.

Another really hardworking performance from the full squad, with plenty of positives to take. We now need to take that same effort and determination into Saturday’s game against Oakley.

Greengairs 1-2 Cumbernauld Colts

Not the way we would have hoped to kick off the season, but plenty of positives to take from the game.

We enjoyed large spells of possession and created plenty of chances throughout. All credit to the Colts keeper, who had a fantastic game and pulled off some excellent saves.

Plenty to build on as we get the season underway. We pick ourselves up and get right back to it on Wednesday night. 💪⚽️
