A huge congratulations to Jack, who recently competed at the 2026 Paddle Europe Freestyle Championships as part of the Great Britain team! π¬π§π
The Junior Menβs competition produced some of the highest standards seen in recent years, with an incredibly strong field and athletes regularly scoring over 1,000 points across their best rides.
Weβre especially proud that Jack secured his place in the semi-finals, competing against some of Europeβs very best junior freestyle paddlers. To represent Great Britain on the international stage is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the hard work and dedication he puts into his paddling.

βοΈ What a busy week we had at Addlestone Canoe Club, in the glorious British sunshine! πΆπ
Saturday saw some of our racers team up with Wey Kayak Club for a fantastic long paddle from Wey Kayak Club to Addlestone Canoe Club. A special shout out to our youngest club member, who paddled the entire distance with a smile on their face from start to finish, an amazing achievement! ππ£
A couple of our racers also took on the Reading Circuit Hasler Race. Racing in extremely hot conditions was no easy task, but they both dug deep, represented the club brilliantly and completed their races successfully. πͺπ₯
Meanwhile, some of our members were enjoying the whitewater at the National White Water Centre in North Wales, making the most of the fantastic conditions and getting plenty of sunshine laps on the water. πποΈ
On Tuesday, we were delighted to welcome our local MP, Dr Ben Spencer, to Addlestone Canoe Club for our Big Paddle Clean Up. Together, we collected litter from the river and removed large amounts of Pennywort, an invasive non-native plant that is choking our waterways.
A huge thank you to all the members and parents who joined us for the afternoon. After all the hard work, our younger paddlers enjoyed cooling off in the river, having fun in the sunshine and finishing the day with a well-earned ice pop! π¦π
