JUNIORS!

Introducing to you the 2026 Lancashire Junior League U9s West 4 Champions! 🏆

Well… the 2026 cricket season is over, and honestly, someone needs to check the Baxenden Cricket Club juniors for performance‑enhancing sweets because WHAT a year it’s been!

Junior cricket at the club has gone on to the next level this year. Thanks to the Committee, free junior membership, and free training sessions, we somehow ended up with 50+ kids turning up some weeks, something we didn't think would be possible when we had no junior section just two years ago.

We kicked off the season entering just one junior team into a league, an U9s team, who ended up going undefeated all season, winning every game!

Midway through the campaign we had enough U9 players to enter into the league a B Team.
The B team played 5 games, showed ridiculous determination, and proved they’re the future of Baxenden cricket.

Another milestone reached this year was our U7s playing for the first time! Straight into the deep end with a tournament at Burnley Cricket Club. They played three, won one, drew one and lost one. A fantastic effort, before playing another game at the back end of the season at home to Bacup. As there is no U7s league in the Lancashire Junior League, we will be arranging many more U7 friendlies next year.

U9s A Team = League Champions 🏆
U9s A Team = U9s Cup Quarter Finalists
U9s B Team = Playing league cricket for the first time
U7s = Playing their first cup game and friendly games,

And next season our Juniors will evolve again!

We’re adding an additional team into the Lancashire Junior League with an U11s!

A massive thank you to all the kids, parents, and coaches — Karl, Brad, Oliver, Barend, Ben (Gorts), Matt, Ash and Harrison who gave up Monday and Thursday evenings to make this happen. 👏

A huge congratulations to our Club Professional Ben Gorton who has finished the 2026 season as the NWCL Championship top run scorer and victim taker.

Gorton finished the season with 816 league runs and it’s the second time in three seasons Ben has been top scorer.

Quiz night!

Following the last quiz night success, we’re putting on another quiz night in December.

Our resident scorer Dino will be the host for the evening, in what I'm sure will be another fantastic night.

Match day!

Our third team host Ribblesdale Wanderers in the league at the Rossendale Motors Arena at Back Lane.

Today our first team and second team take part in their final games of the 2026 season.

Both of them are in action away from home, with our first team travelling to Walkden while our seconds make the journey to Atherton.

🎉 THANK YOU FROM BASH FAMILY FEST! 🎉

What a day! 🩷🧡💙

A HUGE thank you to absolutely everyone who helped make Bash Family Fest happen.

To all of our stall holders, staff, volunteers and security team — thank you for all your hard work, time and effort. Events like this simply couldn’t happen without people willing to get stuck in and help. 🙌

But most importantly, a massive THANK YOU to every single person and family who came along and supported us! ❤️

Standing back, watching and soaking in a moment…. Seeing so many people turn up, enjoy the music, visit the stalls, have a drink, bring the kids and just enjoy the day together made all the hard work completely worth it. It’s what we envisioned and yesterday is came to life.

We hope you all had an amazing time and made some brilliant memories. 🥰
