We are really disappointed in the amount of dogs we have seen in town today, Struggling with the heat.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take your dogs home and DO NOT walk them in this heat.
We are at the hottest part of the day.
We know we speak for many when we would rather have an accident on the floor, before risking heat related illnesses.

Please be mindful that no dog has died from missing a walk, but plenty have by going out on this weather.

There is nothing wrong with shutting a dog away from visiting children. In fact, it’s one of the most sensible, responsible things an owner can do.

We’re seeing it more and more — people almost expecting us to be offended by the idea that their dog might be shut out of the room when young children visit. As if it’s some kind of insult to the dog or a sign of failure.

Let’s be absolutely clear:
No dog has ever been euthanised for being shut in another room.
But many, many, many have been euthanised after biting someone because they were put in a situation they simply could not cope with.

A dog being shut away isn’t cruel. It isn’t unfair. It isn’t “sad”.
It’s protective, preventative, and responsible.

Some dogs don’t like children. Some get overwhelmed by noise, movement, unpredictability. Some are fine until they’re not. And none of that makes them bad dogs — it just makes them dogs with boundaries.

If you know your dog struggles with kids, or you’re unsure how they’ll cope, shutting them away is not only acceptable… it’s the safest, kindest option for everyone involved.

Protect your dog. Protect the children.
