Pentre Storm

Following on from their tournament heroics at the weekend we did something a little different last night at training and had a world cup with the lads 2vs2s where they all picked a World Cup team and competed in a group stage and knockout for the trophy!

It was Brazil who came out on top with Theo and Archie beating a spirited England team with Harley and Harley coming close. Great fun for all the boys and some quality football on show as always 🏆👏🏻

What a day for the Pentre Storm boys, after a slow start this morning with a couple of tight draws in a very tough group they picked it up and got some great results with some fantastic team football to fire them into the champions semi final where they came up against a strong Valley Dragons who had topped their group, the boys took the lead twice in the game but in the final seconds conceded an equaliser with a mix up at the back costing us so penalty kicks it was 😬😬 Our new goalkeeper who was on fire in his first tournament stood strong and with the first penalty missed Abel stepped up to cooly slot our first kick, Valley then missed their second leaving it to Theo to fire us into the final which he did just that blasting his penalty into the net to massive celebrations from the boys! 🙌🏻

Up next was the final against a good Hearts side who we had drew in the group phase with, the boys were on it from the first whistle pressuring for the goal and we finally got the breakthrough when Theo weaved through and smashed into the net to give us the lead. All the boys defended like their life was on the line and seen the game out for a massive champions league win 🏆

Every single one of the boys put a shift in today in very tough conditions with the heat and level of opposition in each game. But they all powered through and were deserved winners in the end! Well done boys a great achievement 👏🏻🏆

The storm boys were back out this morning against a new look CPD Rhyl side, the game started very competitively with both teams looking for early dominance in the game, with a few missed chances from Storm it was CPD Rhyl who took the lead in the first quarter with a nice finish.

Pentre were soon level though through Hugo as the boys started putting together some good passing play from the back to the front, they carried this on to take control of the game with some really well worked goals using the wings and getting balls into the box where the lads started to put them away with some nice finishes.

Cpd Rhyl kept fighting and never gave up in the game and put up a spirited performance but the Storm lads quality showed as the game progressed with a really good team performance. Well done everyone and thanks to Cpd Rhyl for making the short journey over 🙌🏻👏🏻

Massive performance from Abel this morning who’s full of confidence lately beating his man and getting down the wing and putting balls into the box for his team mates, missed a few chances but took one in the end at the back post well done mate 💪🏻👏🏻

Pentre Storm vs Hearts Tigers

Another outing for the boys tonight as they travelled to Coronation gardens in Rhyl to take on Hearts Tigers, we tried to get them to carry on where they left off on Tuesday night and keep the ball moving up the pitch which resulted in a couple of early goals in the first quarter with Theo finding his way through and some neat finishes.

The second quarter the lads were holding onto the ball too long trying to do that bit too much with it but still managed to add a couple of goals with individual finishes a run through from Harley and a quality finish the standout goal of the quarter, we asked them to reset and find the space in the attacking areas and when they did this there was some fantastic passages of play and some neat finishes from Archie and Abel inside the box. Storm carried on the pressure with plenty more attacks and a few more goals before the final whistle went.

A first clean sheet for Harley in the goal and shown again some very impressive distribution.

All in all a good outing for the boys and slowly but surely are realising they can let the ball do the work as opposed to running it all over the pitch. Well done lads 👏🏻💪🏻

Shown a new found intensity the last month with his football with massive determination to win the ball back and linking up with his team mates with balls up the pitch, scored a very impressive goal after taking on a couple of players tonight and well deserved player of the match well done mate keep it up 👏🏻💪🏻

Pentre storm vs Llandudno Amateurs

The boys finally back on the pitch after a couple of weeks with no fixtures as we now get ready for our u9s upcoming season, a fantastic game of football tonight reminding us just how much these boys have come on as a team this last year. An end to end game with well worked goals going in both ends of the pitch but the boys showed their strength in the second half from defence to attack strong in the tackle and creating chances in front of goal. Two top class finishes in the last quarter to see the game out but full credit to Llandudno Amateurs for making the game very competitive. Well done boys 👏🏻

His first game for the team after only 2 weeks training with the boys in goal and it’s amazing what a bit of confidence can do he grew into the game and made some fantastic saves and distribution was really good in the second half massive well done mate not an easy first game in goal but you stepped up to the challenge and more well done 💪🏻🏆

Colwyn Bay tournament 2026
Europa League Winners 🏆🔥⚡️

The boys endured a lot of football in very hot conditions at the annual colwyn bay tournament last weekend, some strong performances in the group with 3 wins out of the first 4 games including a close victory over a strong Penmaenmawr team but as the afternoon went on the boys started to struggle in the heat and a couple of draws and tight losses meant we finished in the top of the Europa positions in the group.

We challenged the boys to pick it up when it mattered and they absolutely did that running through the quarter final 3-0 then the semi final 3-0 before meeting a familiar Denbigh team in the final, an amazing experience for the boys all walking out in the stadium to the champions league music for their final and they continued their form getting an early goal to settle the nerves before adding another 2 before the final whistle and being crowned champions! Massive celebrations from the Storm boys and well deserved after a great day of football. Well done boys 👏🏻💪🏻
