Aberdeenshire Cricket Club presents: The Inaugural Sportsman's Dinner

Aberdeenshire Cricket Club is proud to be hosting its first-ever Sportsman's Dinner on Saturday 3rd October at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club — and we'd love the wider community to be part of it.

Our special guest for the evening is Jonathan Agnew — former England Test cricketer and the voice of BBC's Test Match Special — who'll be joining us for a live Q&A and an evening of stories from a life in the game.

The evening includes a 3-course dinner, entertainment throughout, and some fun fundraising games. It's a great night out in its own right, and proceeds will go towards supporting the club's facilities and future — including improvements beyond the pitch, like our clubhouse, bar, and social spaces.

How many regulars does it take to change a lightbulb? Apparently all of them (and an emergency beer supply).

Due to ongoing electrical works across the club, we’ll be closed this Thursday. Apologies for the inconvenience. We will be back open as normal on Friday.

This Saturday, the Shire lads carry that same badge into a huge one at Mannofield — beat Crescent and the SPCU Title is ours! and with that a chance for promotion to the EPL.

FROM SHIRE JUNIOR TO SCOTLAND CAPTAIN 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🟡🔵

Matthew Cross joined the Shire at just 9 years old. By 14 he'd already forced his way into the first team, playing a vital role in the season we did the double, Scottish Cup and National League .

Fast forward, and that same kid had captained Scotland — leading his country out at Mannofield against the UAE in 2022, on the very ground he learned the game.

Everyone at the Shire is proud to have played a part in that journey.

We sure do miss you up here, Crossy :)
