The North East Scotland Touch Association (NESTA) exists to further the game of Touch (also referred to as Touch rugby) in the North East of Scotland.

We believe that the main road down to Woodside may be shut today due to road works.

This could affect those attending training and the NESTA AGM tonight.

- You should be able to detour by Don St to bring you out further down the cobbled street.
- Or they're also planning to open up the gate for the back way, if you go through the CALA housing and past the electrical station.

Abea Jonker and Ruaridh Gordon from Ellon Rugby helped the Scottish Touch Association claim a bronze medal in the Mixed 18s category at the European Touch Championships in Warwick down south.

The event featured a number of categories and ran from Friday until Sunday with Jonker appearing for the Mixed 18s team for the first time and Gordon, who recently earned his first Men’s Open Scotland cap, one of the vice-captains.

After the pool stage, Scotland finished fourth out of six after winning two out of five games.

In the semi-finals they were up against hosts England and were beaten 17-6, but they dusted themselves down and regrouped ahead of the bronze medal match with Belgium.

Gordon was on fire in that game, scoring four tries as Scotland won 11-9.

He finished the tournament with six tries and Jonker one and they both really made their mark for the Scots.

England won the category by defeating Ireland 13-3.

Well done Harry!

There’s something a little bit special about this award, as it’s chosen by the people who played alongside you all tournament — your teammates. Well done, Harry B15s Players’ Player — being recognised by your teammates says a lot!

What a debut for our B15s!
This was the first time the Academy has ever sent a B15s team to an international tournament, and didn’t they step up to the plate at the EYTC.
There were some seriously nail-biting matches along the way. They had us on the edge of our 'camping' seats, and at times a couple of supporters were hiding behind the bushes - the play was just too close to watch!
The boys kept battling and earned themselves a place in the Bronze Medal match against France. Another thrilling game saw them finish the tournament in a very respectable 4th place.
For their first international tournament, they should be incredibly proud of what they achieved. We certainly are.
Well done, B15s.
