It was on the road again for the Jags today as they faced Echt at Pleasure Park, The Jags started brightly and well organised with a few balls into the box being cleared… Echt then scored with there first attack of the game with the Jags failing to clear the lines… then great work from Dane in the midfielder set up Michal for his first goal of the campaign … the Jags had a range of corner kicks that finally paid off with Jacks ball in finding CJ with a great header to give the Jags the lead at half time 2-1.

Into the second half and the Jags continue to match Echt with the backline doing well to deal with the pressure… it was set pieces that was the Jags downfall as the Echt player had a free header at the back post to level the game at 2-2

Shortly after it was 3-2 with a shot from outside the box falling into the back of the net… a short corner wasn’t dealt with and again a set piece made it 4-2… The jags kept battling and created a few chances through James Cruickshank having a header at the back post

In stoppage time Jacks ball found James Snr who flicked onto James Eilbeck to give the Jags hope 4-3…. With minutes to play the home side sealed the win with the jags pushing for a late equaliser

Again a good performance with no reward today against clinical opposition from set pieces but the young team keep learning with all the youngsters on the park today competing well particular Chaz who played the 90

The Jags travelled to Banchory and were defensively good in the opening 15 minutes weathering a positive start from home side without really testing Matty in goals

JB and Michal both had efforts well saved from the Banchory Goalie before the first flashpoint in the match where the home side were awarded a penalty after it looked like the Jags defender was being fouled… 1-0 slotted home

The Jags could have equalised through JB but again good defending from the home side.. around 5 to halftime and the ball was crossed across the Jags box for the Banchory player to slot home 2-0 HT lots of work to do but couldn’t fault the work rate from the lads

Second half and JB was finally rewarded when he slotted home after a pass from Jamie Rennie 2-1 and well deserved.. into the last 20 minutes and the Jags started to create a few openings with the introduction of Markie Somers but couldn’t force the break through before a shot from the Banchory player who was coming back from on offside position slotted home for 3-1

The Jags battled hard but it wasn’t to be tonight against a good experienced premier league side plenty to build on moving forward and a good start to the campaign … a break on Saturday due to the golf day on Friday
