Coaching gymnastics is never just coaching, it’s supporting, encouraging, listening, motivating, and helping every child grow in confidence both inside and outside the gym.
At Silverburn Gymnastics, we create a fun, safe and positive environment where children can build friendships, learn new skills, stay active and develop confidence that lasts far beyond gymnastics.

🤸♀️ SILVERBURN GYMNASTICS FAQ 🤸♂️
We get lots of questions from parents starting their gymnastics journey, so here are some quick answers to our most common FAQs 👇
❓ What age classes do you offer?
Parent & Toddler — 18 months–3 yearsStructured Preschool — 3–5 years
Recreational Classes — Primary 1 age to 15 yearsAdult Classes — 15 years+
❓ What age can my child start gymnastics? Most children can begin from walking age in parent & toddler classes, with structured recreational classes usually starting around ages 3–5.
❓ Can parents watch classes?Absolutely, we have a viewing gallery where you can stay part of or the whole session.
❓ Do parents have to stay and watch? No, once your child is dropped off you are free to leave. For younger children or during the first couple of sessions, we recommend waiting around 10 minutes to make sure they have settled in. If anything comes up, we will contact you using the details provided.
❓ Does my child need experience? Not at all! We welcome complete beginners as well as experienced gymnasts.
❓ What should my child wear?Comfortable sports clothing such as leggings, shorts, t-shirts, or leotards. Please avoid crop-tops, jeans, skirts, clothing with zips/buttons and no jewellery.
❓ Can I tape up my child’s earrings? No, we have a strict no jewellery policy for safety reasons.
❓ How long are classes?
Classes run for 45 minutes in our Parent & Toddler and Structured Preschool. Our Recreational sessions are 2 hours.
❓ Isn’t a 2-hour session too long?It may seem like a long time, but sessions are carefully structured to keep gymnasts engaged throughout. We spend time warming up and stretching, then move onto body preparation with gymnastics body shape challenges and games before heading onto apparatus work. The final part of the session includes cool down activities.
❓ Is gymnastics safe?Safety is our top priority. All classes are supervised by qualified coaches and structured appropriately for each age and ability level.
❓ What if my child is nervous? That’s completely normal. Our coaches are experienced in helping children build confidence at their own pace.
❓ Can boys do gymnastics too?Absolutely! Gymnastics is for everyone, and we offer opportunities for both boys and girls.
❓ How do I book a trial?Simply send us an email or contact us directly to check availability and arrange a trial session.
