For anyone who couldn’t make tonight’s Ladies Championship final.

It was Gemma who made the most of the opening exchanges and, after seven ends, the scorecard read Kirsty 2, Gemma 6, with Gemma taking a single on six of the first seven ends.
Kirsty scored a one on end eight and, with the jack in hand, looked to change the length away from the three-quarter length on which Gemma had been developing consistency. Kirsty then went on a run, coming out on top in eight of the next nine ends to take the score to 19-7 by the end of the 17th.
If the supporters in the clubhouse thought the match was drawing to a close, they were very much mistaken, as Gemma dug in and chipped away at Kirsty's lead. A three to Gemma on end 23 took the score to 20-16, and the excitement was building among the spectators.
A front toucher at the next end left Kirsty questioning whether it was going to be a second heartbreaking 21-20 defeat in a championship final, as Gemma edged her way closer to that magical 21-shot finish line.
Sadly for Gemma, the fairytale comeback was not on the cards this year and, after a magnificent evening of close heads and friendly bowling, it was Kirsty who took the final end and, with it, the 2026 Newhills Ladies' Championship title.

A reminder for anyone around this evening that the Ladies Championship Final is on the green at 6pm
