This is the short story.
It took 15 minutes of riding to find this tree.
It's been 3 weeks since I've rode this route and despite riding 40 plus times in the past, on this day, a fallen tree branch appeared in my face.
The bike was ditched deep in the woods and we went to A&E leading a brain scan, a couple drips and 3hrs of stitching.
After initially gettingseen to, the next concern was collecting the bike. That leads us to photo number 1.
Bike recovery required some pretty serious bike riding so I sent the most experienced bike rider in my team/the only person available.
After a Toni Bou like performance exiting the a long steep climb which included a pivot. Paul Dunn slipped off the pedal on a footpath (clutches fault apparently?)
Oh and 7 stitches
Take aways from the experience. Don't hit trees, dont trust Dad to wear bike boots. Find more money so you can race safe racecars

Didn't plan on jumping off a baby cliff this morning.
Guess who didn't have his camera on too πββοΈ
Very grateful that I learned to bounce at a young age and my Montesa didn't chase me off the drop.
This is what happens when you can't race your car. You do silly things.
Explaining what happened, there was a small log I wanted to bounce over with an ideally placed branch. Unfortunately the branch was rotten π¬
So I wasn't totally stupid.

Did something really stupid last night!
I did a Marathon and added in a 3500ft of elevation change cuz it sounded cool
The meaning behind the name Short Circuit has now updated to "a short circuit in the head"
Here is the logic:
2 months ago, Liam in work (who has now completed the London marathon) said that less than 1% of the population have done a marathon. So I thought "that sounds cool" and I looked into nearby Full marathons because halfs don't count in my broken brain. I found the Midnight Mountain Marathon and thought "mountain marathon, that sounds cool" and I entered it π€·
Training:
20minutes a day, 3 days a week (sometimes), in the gym rowing, on a bike or on the staircase thingy.
Then out on my Montesa most weekends, just because I love my bike for two ish hours
Don't do running, so why I did this, I don't know really
Verdict:
Full distance completed (although not expected with all the cut off times and points)
Legs are destroyed (walking like I have been penetrated up the ass)
Mountain marathons are mad
Never doing it again π
Nuno Vale , your brain is broken!
Just want to let you know ππ
