🧹 STAND CLEAN UP DAY 🐍

We’re calling on all volunteers to help us give the stand a much-needed tidy-up!

We’ll be clearing out unwanted items, removing old junk, and organising the area underneath the stand to create more space and improve storage for the club. The more hands we have available, the quicker and easier the job will be.

The wait is over... our 2026/27 Athletic XV league fixtures have officially been released! 🏉

A brand-new league, new rivalries, local derbies, and 22 league fixtures await as we prepare to compete in the inaugural Valleys & Cardiff League.

Before league action gets underway, here’s a reminder of our busy pre-season schedule throughout August...

We kick off our league campaign at home to Nelson RFC , before travelling to Beddau RFC Colliers for our first away fixture of the season.

Our local derby clashes with Abercynon RFC and Mountain Ash RFC are sure to be highlights once again, with home fixtures in November and December, before returning the favour with away trips in April and May.

With 22 league games ahead, there’s plenty to look forward to as the squad begins a new chapter in what promises to be an exciting first season in the Valleys & Cardiff League.

Whether you’re a returning player, completely new to rugby, or looking for a fresh challenge, we’d love to have you involved. Training takes place every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00pm.

🏉🐍 U18s SNAKES PRE-SEASON! 🐍🏉

Our U18s Pre-Season gets underway on Tuesday 14th July, with training every Tuesday & Thursday at 7:00pm as preparations begin for the 2026/27 season.

Whether you’re a powerhouse prop who loves the collisions, a towering lock dominating the lineout, a relentless back row who never stops tackling, a vocal scrum half, a creative outside half with the game on a string, a crash-ball centre, or a lightning-fast back looking to finish tries, we want to see you.

Following an outstanding campaign last season as Cardiff League Champions, Cardiff Cup Champions, and East Wales Premiership Runners-Up, we’re looking to build on that success with the next group of talented young players.

Whether you’re returning for another season or looking to play rugby for the very first time, you’ll be welcomed into a club built on hard work, friendship and pride.

🏉 Earlier this year, we asked our Mini & Juniors families and volunteers for their honest feedback on their experiences at Aberdare RFC.

We wanted to understand what we’re doing well, where we can improve, and how we can continue to provide the best possible environment for our players, families, coaches and volunteers.

The response was fantastic, and we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to share their views.

We’re delighted that the feedback highlighted so many positives, including our coaching, communication, player development and welcoming culture. Just as importantly, we’ve listened to the suggestions for improvement and will be taking action on these during the coming season.

Pre-season training returns every Tuesday & Thursday, starting Tuesday 30th June at 7pm, as we begin preparations for the 2026/27 season.

Whether you’re a front row monster who loves scrum time, a giant second row who lives for lineouts, a back row workhorse tackling everything that moves, a scrum half who’s 5ft 2 and the most annoying player on the pitch, an outside half who thinks he’s a rugby genius, a hard-running centre with silky skills, or part of the back three waiting to unleash the wheels, there’s a place for you at Aberdare RFC.

New players are always welcome, whether you’ve played before or fancy giving rugby a go for the very first time.
