A tough afternoon for our 1st XV, with St Albans coming away 45–33 winners after an entertaining contest. Plenty of positives to take, including a brilliant afternoon for Dan Kathrens who crossed for two of our five tries. πŸ‘πŸ»

Elsewhere, our 2nd XV made it two wins from two in the Valleys & Cardiff Athletic League with an excellent 38–19 victory over St Albans. πŸ”΅βš«οΈ

A familiar face takes the armband once again! We’re delighted to confirm that club stalwart Luke Price will captain our 1st XV for the 2026/27 season.

Luke has been part of the furniture at the club for years, recently passing the huge milestone of 150 senior appearances and giving plenty to the jersey along the way.

Having last captained the side during the 2017/18 season, it’s a great achievement for Luke to be given the honour of leading the boys once again.

A player who knows exactly what representing Abercynon means... congratulations, Pricey! πŸ‘πŸ»
