Modern Jive with Lizzie and Rich Carter. A weekly class for new beginners and regular dancers. Dancing is a great way to make new friends, keep fit and have fun. Both couples and singles are welcome. You will be moved around giving everyone a chance to dance with regular experienced dancers or you can stay with your partner if you prefer. The evening will consist of two beginners lessons for the f
irst six weeks. A lesson, consisting of three moves will take around 45 minutes and be followed by a short freestyle when you will be able to practice your moves and take refreshments. We will then go over the moves you have learnt and add one or two more. Before you know it you will be dancing. The remainder of the evening will be open as freestyle. Rich has been dancing LeRoc since 1995 and Liz since 1997.We met at dancing and a little later got married. We have competed and were finalists in the UK Modern Jive Championships and 'Chance2Dance' UK competitions in Blackpool and London. We also participated in regional and local competitions and have a small collection of trophies between us. Liz was co-founder of Portishead LeRoc in 2003 before moving to France in 2006. Over the years of dancing together we have ventured to Jive clubs all over the UK, France, Spain and most recently Singapore. We are invited to teach locally at other LeRoc classes and church fundraisers in Gloucestershire. We invite you to join us for fun, laughter and an experience that may change your life.
