De echte 24 Heures du Mans (24 uur van Le Mans) is in volle toeren! Zelf heb ik deze prachtige endurance race ook een aantal keren mogen rijden in de virtuele wereld bij DC-SimRacing, uiteraard geen volle 24-uur, maar meestal waren dit endurance races van 2-3 uur met een tijdsversnelling van x10 zodat we een heerlijke dag en nacht cyclus konden simuleren. Van de 4 races die ik meereed, drie met ProjectMotorRacing (Project CARS), één met Gran Turismo, behaalde ik een keer het podium met een P3 en finishte ik (geloof het of niet) de andere drie races allemaal op P4. Maar mijn mooiste Le Mans herinnering bij DC-SimRacing was toch wel de race waar ik zelf niet eens aan mee deed, de 4 uur van GTE Le Mans, uiteraard op het Circuit des 24 Heures (de la Sarthe), waar ik als commentator bijna zo’n 5 uur lang (inclusief voorbeschouwing, 30 minuten kwalificatie en nabeschouwing) vol genot commentaar heb gegeven op de Project CARS 2 race (PS4) die verreden werd voor het goede doel van Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij (KiKa). Tegelijkertijd werd er ook een andere 4-uurs race op de PC verreden voor KiKa bij DC-SimRacing met RaceRoom op Silverstone en voor deze twee races hebben wij destijds in 2019 een mooi bedrag van €1255 opgehaald en gedoneerd aan dit mooie goede doel door middel van donaties die door kijkers werden gedaan tijdens de livestreams van deze twee race’s. Leuk feitje: in totaal hebben wij bij DC-SimRacing door de jaren heen maar liefst bijna €14.500 aan donaties opgehaald voor verschillende goede doelen en ik ben zeer trots dat ik hier een mooi deel aan heb kunnen bijdragen op verschillende manieren.

A bit of nostalgic post!

The real 24 Hours of Le Mans is in full swing. I have had the privilege of driving this magnificent endurance race a few times in the virtual world at DC-SimRacing; obviously not for a full 24 hours, but usually these were endurance races of 2-3 hours with a time acceleration of x10 so that we could simulate a wonderful day and night cycle. Of the 4 races I competed in, three with Project CARS and one with Gran Turismo, I achieved a podium finish once with a P3 and (believe it or not) finished the other three races all in P4. But my most beautiful Le Mans memory at DC-SimRacing was undoubtedly the race I didn't even participate in myself: the 4 Hours of GTE Le Mans, of course on the Circuit de la Sarthe itself, where I thoroughly enjoyed providing commentary as a commentator for almost 5 hours (including pre-race, 30 minutes of qualifying, and post-race analysis) on Project CARS 2 race (PS4) held for the benefit of KiKa (children cancer free). At the same time, another 4-hour race was also held on PC for KiKa at DC-SimRacing with RaceRoom at Silverstone, and for these two races, back in 2019, we raised a nice sum of €1,255 and donated it to this wonderful charity through donations made by viewers during the livestreams of these two races. Fun fact: over the years, we at DC-SimRacing have raised a total of nearly €14,500 in donations for several charity’s, and I’m very proud to have been able to contribute a significant portion to this in various ways.
