Funding is available for projects in Kazakhstan to accelerate action on super pollutants through the following priority area:

Rice is a cornerstone of global food security, feeding more than half the world's population. Yet it is also one of the largest sources of agricultural methane emissions.

From alternate wetting and drying (AWD) and improved fertilizer and rice straw management to digital MRV systems, advisory platforms, and IoT tools, technology is enabling farmers to adopt practices that reduce methane emissions while improving productivity and resilience.

A new briefing from the CCAC's Technology and Economic Assessment Panel explores how these digital solutions can accelerate the transition to low-emission rice cultivation.

At London Climate Action Week 2026, global leaders came together to accelerate action on super pollutants ahead of COP31 Türkiye.

Cutting super pollutants is one of the fastest ways to slow warming while delivering cleaner air, healthier communities, stronger economies, and greater energy security. The solutions exist. Now it's time to scale action.

Today, the UN Secretary-General launched a global Call to Action on Methane, outlining nine priority actions across fossil fuels, agriculture, and waste to deliver cleaner air, healthier communities, and stronger food systems.

In response, Canada and the European Union, Co-Conveners of the Global Methane Pledge, issued a joint statement endorsing the initiative and urging countries to accelerate implementation ahead of COP31.

Another strong signal came from London Climate Action Week, where the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Commission highlighted methane abatement in the energy sector as a key pillar of energy security.
