đŁïž Quote by Robert Collier
Lots of information out there about âconsistency being keyâ & âbuilding brick by brickâ - I even believe we spoke about making a cake on here once đ€
But itâs true especially with marathon training -
Of course you can smash things for a few workouts and weeks and you may get some results and there is a time and a place to really hit it and go for it to raise that ceiling or at least see where it might be however the true progress and the raising of the floor is in the months and months and years and years of consistently putting one foot in front of the other. Thatâs what holds you up when you do pick up an injury or an illness or if things start to go a little sideways on race day - your base that youâve built over time is what holds strong and allows you to hang on or return quicker and stronger than before so donât neglect or take those steps for granted and when youâre in the thick of it - keep going - it might not be impressive work but itâs the stuff that matters đȘđœ

Could one conversation improve your next race?
Whether youâre chasing a PB, training for your first marathon, or feeling stuck but unsure if full 1:1 coaching is right for you - this is your chance to get our feedback without committing to ongoing coaching.
We think so.
Every runner has blind spots. Sometimes itâs your recovery. Sometimes itâs simply that youâre doing too muchâor not enough.
Sometimes itâs just a few tweaks and a fresh set of eyes that make the difference.
Thatâs where our Training Review Call comes in. For the cost of 1 months coaching:
đ We review your recent training block or your last marathon build.
đ We meet with you for a one-to-one support call to go through and find out more about you, your training & goals.
đ You will receive a personalised report highlighting 3 key areas that we think will have the greatest impact with practical advice you can implement straight away.
đ As part of this package you have up to 7 days where you can ask us any questions via email or WhatsApp if there is anything youâre unsure of.
đ© DM us or comment âREVIEWâ to find out more and book your call with us!

Donât make these mistakes in your next training block!

We often get asked how we maintain motivation in training week after week, month after month, year after year and the answer is simple. We donât. Motivation is weak. It comes and goes like the weather. Yes thereâs always âa big goalâ that is exciting and scary and that helps but the nitty gritty day to day - no. Even as a pro you get a lot of days where you think âreally? I havenât slept properly, Iâm tired, itâs raining, this hurts that hurts⊠blah blah blahâ & thatâs where discipline kicks in. But discipline is a skill. Itâs taught. You have to action it - so hereâs how we make sure we stay disciplined in our own training. Hopefully it helps!

1. Have a training plan that is doable - weâre all guilty of having the âperfect planâ - the âif nothing goes wrong this is what Iâm gonna doâ - IT IS NEVER ACHIEVABLE! Life happens, niggles crop up, you catch a cold, you have to work late blah blah it happens. Your training plan needs to be flexible - donât be married to it - it WILL need to be adapted along the way & thatâs fine, in fact itâs the best way because what if youâre running better than you âplannedâ đ âdo the best with the situation you have in front of youâ
2. Make the bits you donât like easy and unavoidable - donât like the gym? Struggle to run after work? Make your drive to or from work go past the gym or past a running loop. Eat all the chocolate in the fridge on day 1 after the food shop đ - donât buy it. Make your life easier. Ps. Put your kit on the radiator the night before. Youâre welc
Hard sessions are where fitness is built â but recovery is where itâs absorbed. If you donât recover you donât adapt đ
One of the biggest mistakes we see with runners is trying to âmake upâ for a missed session by stacking hard days back-to-back. Life happens. Work, family, travel, illness, and unexpected plans will sometimes mean a session gets missed â and thatâs completely normal.
The answer isnât to cram everything in. The answer is to protect the quality of your next hard session.
Always aim for at least one easy day before your next hard workout. That easy run (or rest day) helps you arrive fresher, stronger, and ready to get the most from the session.
Consistency beats compensation. Trust the process. đââïžđȘ
