My thoughts on, “What does self love actually look like in day to day living?”
I think when we’re one fluid wholeness, no longer hiding parts of ourself, we have achieved the self mastery that is self love. Curious to know your thoughts?

A poem titled, “Bird Wings” by Rumi.
This poem found me when I was in a deep period of grief, and I’ve carried it in my back pocket ever since.
It reminds us of the pattern of transformation and healing, how every period of contracting into the mysterious depths of our own suffering is followed by an expansion of our spirit.
When we cling to either the pain or joy for too long, refusing to give yield to the natural cycle of transformation, we become paralyzed.
When we allow this natural evolution of our spirit to move through the unwinding of our inner pain and liberation - we fly. Maybe not in body, but definitely in soul and spirit.
The poem is a reminder for those who are grieving that joy is yet to come again. That grief, like all things, is temporary.
It is dually a reminder for those who are experiencing joy to also feel the gratitude of its presence. To take caution not to runaway with it, for our deepest meaning doesn’t live in a single emotion, but lives in the entirety of our human experience. That is where we find our greatest aliveness.
The full poem is below.
Bird Wings
The grief for what you carry lifts a mirror
up to where you are bravely working.
Expecting the worst, you look, and instead,
here’s the joyful face you’ve been wanting to see.
Your hand opens and closes and opens and closes.
If it were always a fist or always stretched open,
you would be paralysed.
Your deepest presence is in every small contracting and expanding,
the two as beautifully balanced and coordinated
as birdwings.

I love intertwining what the scientific somatic research says and what my psychic experience says 💕 this is always the sweet spot for me for full embodied understanding.
I gave some emphasized examples of what you could be responding to with anxiety in your relationship. However, you might be in a very healthy relationship, but feel a bit anxious because you noted your partner was a smidge less enthusiastic towards you. The trouble is not in the noticing of it, but in the meaning making of it. That’s where we place our projections, making their lowered enthusiasm about our own lack of enoughness instead of the more likely reality - maybe they’re just tired from the work day.
If there is a deeper issue, your nervous system will repeatedly flag it, and you can trust that something needs to be communicated or shifted in your relationship. You can trust the millennia of stored wisdom your feminine nervous system has to offer you. The body never lies.
No matter whether you consider yourself in a healthy relationship or not, daily grounding and nervous system regulation are necessary given all of the cues we pick up on with our bodies and psychic antennas 😘

Getting into the nuances of inauthenticity and competition in female relationships ✨
My last sentence got cut off by my alarm 😂so her it is: “ pretending that competitive urge isn’t inside you is a problem because it leaks out of your shadow and is felt by other women”
Let me know your thoughts or if you’ve experienced these feelings before with other women in the comments! I’d love to stir some dialogue on this topic that is often so hidden, taboo, and shamed. 💗
