To all my past clients over the years. Thank you for your support. I have decided that now is the time to retire, along with Julia, my wife. I have made some good friends along the way, so it's not been all work, work work, it's been fun as well. So a life of leisure from now on, apparently 🤪 keep well all.

Most of the taping and filling done today. Once sanded a second finer coat will be done, sanded again, then an undercoat applied before the topcoats.

Today I completed the plasterboarding in a guest bedroom. Previously I had battened out and insulated the ceiling, studded out and insulated the walls and the window reveals, including a deep window sill. Next is the taping and filling prior to painting.

Day 2 of studding out and insulated a guest bedroom, both exterior walls apart from the window reveals nearly ready for plasterboard.

Day one of the next job. Studding out an exterior wall so it can be insulated. The original little chimney breast was unattractive and too small for the king-sized bed's headboard so it was agreed to enlarge it, to leave two recesses for bedside tables. Tomorrow is the wall where the window is, same treatment as before.

Second phase of ceiling renovations involving removal of " classic "pine cladding, then insulating, battening out, plasterboarding, and finally tape / fill then paint. After that changing/fitting of new lights (thanks Charles for moving of cables, new feeds etc. ) Imagination was needed at some times, as water pipes, and cables running around the perimeter of the rooms had to be boxed in. The showeroom walls will need painting again. Also a feature was made of the staircase underside as it was hidden under cladding before.

Phase one of a large raised deck area almost completed. Support posts concreted in and main frame constructed. Roughly 25m2 when finished. Sides will be cladded and steps to be built after decking laid.

On going project nears completion for a French client at a very large house. In total 15 pairs of shutters ( front and back ) have had to be sanded back, repaired in the case of the front louvered ones where numerous louvres had to be made to replaced rotted out ones.
Finally, 10 pairs of windows, plus a single one all had to be sanded and repainted. Just the garage doors, front door and 3 pairs of shutters to go. All the shutters have to be lifted off their pins, sanded, repaired where required, then sprayed.

After many months of pondering whether or not to remove the pine cladding on this kitchen ceiling in case we found all sorts of hidden horrors, my client went for it, and although some re-routing of existing wiring had to be done by Charles the electrician, and cables and water / waste pipes had to be boxed in or over as some went round the whole perimeter of the room, the client is very happy with the result.
A lighter, brighter room, along with some new light fittings is the result. After the panelling was removed, insulation was then fitted between the ceiling beams, then battened out, plasterboarded, taped, filled then the whole room painted. Such was the improvement, it has now been decided to do the entrance hall, and the room beyond the kitchen as well.

The metal pergola frame had had cover after cover destroyed in storms, so this time a more solid structure was called for. The legs where bolted to concrete in the ground, then a slatted wooden roof put on ( painted or stained later, or left to grey naturally ) Each board had to be twisted before screwing ( nails would not cut it ) into place to follow the original "sail" shape. An old candle hanger was turned upside down for a weird chandelier effect. A decked area will be done underneath to give a flat, level base for the chairs and table. A few more boards to finish off.

Ongoing work to remove the knotty pine cladding on a ceiling revealed some lovely oak beams. After cleaning them off, insulating between, battening out etc. they are ready for plasterboarding. Some wiring issues where sorted and rerouted where needed where sorted out by Charles Hodencq so that I could continue ( thanks Charles )
After plasterboarding and painting the room will be lighter and much more appealing than before.
