A visit to a ceramic partner in Jingdezhen 景德镇. More than the factory itself, what stayed with us was a certain way of approaching material, form, and making. The founder, an artist and graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing 中央美术学院, has shaped the place with that sensibility. We spoke about audio, recycled ceramic, and what a speaker might become in such a setting. Nothing is defined yet. For now, it remains a direction — but already a meaningful one.

Sound Modules
This project started from a simple idea: using form and material as acoustic variables.
A single white column housed a full-range speaker, almost like a gallery plinth. On top, interchangeable wooden modules — each made from a different wood species and shaped differently — changed both the way sound was diffused and the way the object was perceived.
The white body was kept deliberately neutral, almost architectural, so the acoustic modules could become the active element of the composition.
Different woods, different shapes, different sonic responses.
Not decoration added afterwards, but a way of making sound visible through form.
An early project, but still close to how we think today: design as a way to connect performance, perception, and presence.
