Suva Volleyball Association held a reguregu this evening for our dearly departed athlete and teammate, Ms. Akanisi “Aggie” Mamali, at her family residence-Wairua Road.

The SVA delegation was represented by members of the Board, the Senior Women’s Team, and friends, who gathered to pay their respects, offer prayers, and stand in solidarity with Akanisi’s family during this difficult time.

We would also like to sincerely acknowledge and thank all our affiliated clubs, families, friends, and supporters who have generously contributed, both in cash and in kind. Although many of you were unable to join us this evening, your love, kindness, and support have been deeply appreciated by both the Association and Aggie’s family.

🕊️Honoring the Life of Ms Akanisi Mamali.

Over the past few days, the Suva Volleyball family has come together to mourn the heartbreaking loss of one of our own, Akanisi "Aggie" Mamali. As we continue to grieve, we also choose to celebrate the life of a remarkable young woman.

For the past six years, Aggie was part of the Suva Volleyball family. She proudly represented Savura Volleyball Club and the Suva Women's Team, always giving her best and wearing the Suva colors with pride.

Standing at 180 cm, Aggie was a middle blocker. She played with determination and heart.Beyond the volleyball court, Aggie was so much more than a teammate-she was a sister, a confidante, and a true friend. She had an infectious sense of humor, always cracking jokes that could lighten the mood and bring smiles to those around her. She was the first to offer a helping hand, the first to check in on a teammate, and someone who genuinely cared for others. Her kindness and selfless spirit are the memories we will hold closest to our hearts.

Originally from Naiyarabale, Cakaudrove, with maternal links to Bureta, Levuka, Ovalau, Aggie's volleyball journey began while she was in Form 6 at Lelean Memorial School. Inspired by watching her friend Ravai Tivao play, she embraced the sport with passion. Through volleyball, she built lifelong friendships and proudly represented Suva at every opportunity.

She believed in the power of teamwork, often reminding us to "Work together and trust each other." She encouraged young people to stay away from drugs, surround themselves with positive influences, and remain focused on their goals. Her dream was to one day proudly wear the Fiji jersey at the Pacific Games a dream she pursued with dedication and unwavering commitment.

Her personal motto reflected the way she lived her life:

"Be Original. Be You. Be Humble." ✌️

To her beloved family, relatives, friends, teammates, and everyone whose life she touched, please know that your loss is our loss. Akanisi, thank you for every smile, every word of encouragement, and every moment you shared with us. ❤️🏐🕊️

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."- 2 Timothy 4:7 Until that glorious day when we meet again, may you rest safely in the loving arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
