For many years, the challenge between Nabua Broncos RLC and Vusu Raiders RLC has been more than just a game of rugby league. While many may see it as a rivalry, to us it is something far greater—it is a celebration of sportsmanship, respect, culture, and the unbreakable bond that rugby league has created between our two clubs.
The Karavaki Trophy is played in memory of our beloved brother, Karavaki, a proud Nabua Broncos player who hailed from Buliya Ono, Kadavu. Through the traditions of Fiji, he was also connected to the people of Vusu as their Tauvu, making this challenge even more meaningful.
Although Karavaki's life was tragically cut short at a young age, his spirit continues to live on every time these two teams take the field. This trophy is not only a contest for silverware—it is a tribute to a young man who loved rugby league with all his heart and a reminder that his legacy will never be forgotten.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Vusu Raiders RLC for continuing to uphold our shared culture, traditions, and family bond by keeping the Karavaki Trophy Challenge alive. Your commitment ensures that Karavaki's memory lives on for future generations.
