YOUTH TOUCH RUGBY

The past few weeks our Development Officers have been actively introducing touch rugby in schools.

Last week we were at Yat Sen School and this week we are at Fiji LDS Church College. As we build up our player development pathways, our youth teams are the future of Fiji Touch.

✨ A Historic Milestone for the Touch Federation Fiji ✨

Yesterday marked a defining moment for our Touch community. At a Special General Meeting, the Touch Federation Fiji (TFF) successfully adopted its Constitution for the very first time — a foundational achievement that strengthens our governance and sets a clear pathway for the future of our sport.

We also proudly confirm that the 2024 audited financial statements were adopted, following a lapse since the last audit. This marks a significant step forward in restoring strong financial stewardship and rebuilding trust.

Affiliate members and touch community representatives were present to witness and support these important decisions.

In addition, the TFF Executive Committee is now progressing work on the next financial audit, which will be presented at the Annual General Meeting later this year. This continued effort reflects our commitment to regular reporting and responsible oversight.

We are entering a new era — one grounded in accountability, transparency, and a shared dedication to strengthening Touch in Fiji.

Vinaka vakalevu to everyone who continues to stand with us as we build stronger systems, stronger governance, and a stronger future for our sport.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

We believe that strong governance and transparency are the foundations of a thriving sport. We are committed to building a robust framework that supports our athletes, clubs, and affiliates for years to come.

To continue this important work, we are calling a Special General Meeting (SGM) to focus on key organizational pillars—specifically, the presentation of our 2024 Audited Financials and a comprehensive review and endorsement of the TFF Constitution.

As a National Sporting Organization we are affiliated with the Fiji Association of Sport & National Olympic Committee and support their role in maintaining the landscape of Olympic sporting development in Fiji.

We are thankful for the opportunity to send our officers to capacity building programs such as the Oceania Sport Education Program (OSEP) for Strength & Conditioning Trainers.

We are grateful for the support of the Fiji National Sports Commission and TourismHQ in providing a platform for our elite coaches and development officers to upskill and gain accreditation through their Training of Trainers Program last week.

The training program provided an opportunity to learn from the Touch Blacks Championship winning coaches - Luke Chapman, Matthew Hutchinson and Jaedan Wilson. The learning centered around foundational level and development level course material while exploring tailored content from high performance development experiences.

As we look to explore the DNA of our own brand of touch rugby in Fiji, the spirit and mana of our global touch rugby community was shared by our facilitators over the 4 days of capacity building.

Congratulations to Suva Touch Association and supporters for all the competing teams on the a successful completion to a 2026 club season.

The growth of the sport in Fiji is built off the backbone that is our greater touch community. We are proud that our affiliates enable our sport to be accessible to our national talents .

Touch Federation Fiji in collaboration with Fiji National Sports Commission is in its planning phase to pilot a school touch competition during the second term school break.
