What makes a Suunto product feel like a Suunto?

For Pinja Rouger, CMF Senior Designer at Suunto, the answer lies in the details – from colour and materials to finishes, durability, and how a product feels in the hands of the person using it.

Working across almost the entire product portfolio, Pinja brings together her background in industrial design with a passion for color and a deep interest in understanding the user.

As part of the research behind the From Depths to Heights Archive Exhibition, Werneri from garbadura_com sat down with Pinja to discuss the thinking behind Suunto’s designs, the importance of collaboration, and how to respect Suunto’s heritage while continuing to move forward.

It was great to see so many people come together to celebrate 90 years of Suunto, Finnish design, innovation and outdoor culture.

A huge thank you to Collective for diving into our archives and bringing this story to life. 🤝

Three-time UTMB champion, Courtney Dauwalter came back to the Mont-Blanc Valleys to embrace another challenge. Sometimes, the bravest step is simply having the courage to stand on the start line.

Seven years after winning UTMB, 🅿🅰🆄 🅲🅰🅿🅴🅻🅻 stood once again under this iconic arch, ready to take on the mountain that changed his life. Different year, different journey, but the same love for the mountains that brought him here.

A brave and thoughtful runner, Ida-Sophie Hegemann knows when to push and when to listen to her body. Sometimes, the strongest decision is knowing when to step back.

Through a season of highs and lows, abby hall kept moving forward. Another long night on the trails of the Mont-Blanc Valleys — and another reminder to keep going.

Four athletes. Four very different journeys. One shared love for these mountains.

Proud to share them with HOKA UTMB® Mont-Blanc. 🔺
