Helsinki Longsword Open 2027 will be fought on 22th to 23rd January 2027! Competitions on Friday and Saturday, free sparring on Sunday 24th.
Save the date now, we will soon post more information about the event. Registration will open in late September. See you in the ring!

We are at ropecon again this year! Come swing by our table and discuss HEMA, see the swords we use in training and practise swinging them in the designated demo area. You can find us in the vendor hall all weekend!

We are at kalasatamanpuisto celebrating Helsinki day and showing people the wonders of HEMA!

EHMS on jälleen mukana juhlistamassa Helsingin syntymäpäivää perjantaina 12.06.2026!
Kokoonnumme Kalasataman puistoon kauppakeskus REDI:n viereen miekkailemaan ulkona ja kertomaan ohikulkijoille seuramme toiminnasta sekä HEMAsta harrastuksena. Otamme salilta mukaan myös pehmopitkiksiä, joilla kiinnostuneet pääsevät kokeilemaan miekkailua turvallisesti.
EHMS:n salille voi tulla klo 17.00 pakkaamaan omia tavaroita mukaan, jotta siirtymälle tapahtumapaikalle ennen tapahtuman alkua klo 18.00 jää hyvin aikaa.
EHMS will once again take part in celebrating Helsinki’s birthday on Friday, 12 June 2026!
We will gather at Kalasatama Park next to the REDI shopping centre to fence outdoors and introduce passers-by to our club and HEMA as a hobby. We will also bring foam longswords from the salle so that visitors can safely try out fencing themselves.
Members may come to the EHMS salle at 17:00 to pack and prepare their equipment, allowing enough time to travel to the event location before the event begins at 18:00.

Join us for the cleaning day on Saturday, 06 June 2026. We will begin at 10:00!
EHMS has continued to grow steadily in membership, and many of our newer members have also acquired their own training equipment. As a result, the storage shelves and coat racks are becoming very full.
To ensure that current and future members have space to store their equipment at the salle, we want to make sure that the items stored there are actively in use.
If you have equipment that you no longer actively use, we kindly ask that you remove it from the salle and store it elsewhere.
Boffer training is cancelled on the cleaning day, and free practice will begin only after the cleaning work has been completed.
We hope as many members as possible will be able to join the volunteer effort!
