A great moment of competition, connection, and growth for our players: Vera Basketball Academy’s U18 and N1 teams faced each other in a friendly game full of intensity, energy, and the desire to keep improving.

For the younger players, it was a valuable opportunity to test themselves against a higher level of pace and experience. For everyone, it was another step along the path we share every day: work, compete, and grow together.

We’re excited to welcome Finley Rolfe from Great Britain 🇬🇧 to the VERA Basketball Academy family.

Finley is a 2008-born PG/SG, standing at 1.85 m, and joins our N1 program after his experience with City of Badajoz Academy (CBA).

He has taken part in the Elite Select 2025 Camp, competing alongside some of the top British players, and has also trained with the Tercera FEB squad at his previous club.

For Finley, choosing VERA is about continuing to grow in the right environment:

“I chose VERA because of the great environment created by the coaches, and to continue my development while competing in N1.”

Coming from the youth system of Stella Azzurra Roma, Kevin Gutiérrez 🇻🇪 joins the VERA Basketball Academy family.

Kevin is a 2009-born Small Forward, standing at 6’7” / 201 cm, and will be part of our U18 program and N1.

Coming from Miranda, Venezuela, Kevin arrives at VERA with an impressive international background:

Coming from Selfoss/Dalvík, Iceland, Ari brings valuable international experience, having represented Iceland at U16, U18 and U20 national team level. 🇮🇸

🇪🇸 WELCOME TO VERA, THOMAS! 🏀

We’re excited to welcome Thomas Joseph Smith Costello from Dublin, Ireland, to the VERA Basketball Academy family.

Thomas is a 2011-born point guard joining our U16 program from Malahide BC.

He has been selected for the Irish Basketball Academy for two consecutive years, competed in a tournament in Santander, Spain, and has had the opportunity to work under coaches including Michael Brie, Kirby Schepp and Dejan Mihevc.

But Thomas’ journey to VERA is about more than basketball:

“I chose VERA to improve myself not only in basketball, but in life as a person.”

Una temporada más volvemos a colaborar con Cabo Verde. 🇪🇸🫂🇨🇻

Gracias a Fundación Unicaja y al Ayuntamiento de Vera a través DestinoVERA hemos ayudado a que el equipo senior masculino de Liprobasket en la isla de Santo Antão pueda vestir nuestra equipación y competir en el Campeonato Nacional celebrado en la capital, Praia.

Enorme labor que tanto el club como el seleccionador nacional Emanuel Trovoada realizan en el fomento del baloncesto como un instrumento para mantener la comunidad unida en torno a hábitos saludables.

Acciones sociales que desde el Club Baloncesto Ciudad de Vera consideramos esenciales y de las que seguiremos siendo partícipes.
