What a fantastic day yesterday at Roda Golf with the Stray Sod Golf Society! ⛳️🍻

It was a very special day as many of Gary Harper’s friends and family joined us. Gary was a former member of the Stray Sod Golf Society, so it was only fitting that we came together on the golf course to honour his memory.

There was plenty of great golf, laughter, friendship and, of course, we all raised a glass to Gary. 🥂❤️

A brilliant day shared with some wonderful people, creating memories and remembering a great friend and former member of the society.

Top Tip Tuesday from Jimmy ⛳️

Hola fellow golfers! 🏌🏼‍♂️

This Friday, 28/08, the Stray Sod Golf Society is heading down the AP-7 to Roda Golf & Beach Resort for another great day on the fairways.

You could be forgiven for thinking you’ve landed in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 — this course is flatter than a perfect snooker table! The good news? It’s easy on the legs and a real pleasure to walk.

Roda offers a great mix of holes and plenty of room off the tee, but don’t get too comfortable! There’s a generous helping of sand and water hazards ready to catch anyone who gets a little too adventurous. 😅

The variety of short and long par 4s keeps you thinking, while a couple of the par 3s will definitely grab your attention 👀. They’re not overly long, but with water waiting patiently for a stray shot, commitment is key.

And then we reach the 18th… 🧐

You can almost taste that cold beer 🍻, but there’s one final challenge waiting — more water protecting the green. Has your concentration gone, or have you got enough in the tank for one last great shot? 🏌🏼‍♂️

Keep an eye on the skies too ✈️✈️✈️. If we’re lucky, we might get a fly-past from the local Spanish Red Arrows, often spotted practising around nearby San Javier airport.

With excellent facilities, great views across the course and a clubhouse ready to welcome us afterwards, Roda is the perfect setting for another Stray Sod day out.

So sharpen those wedges, bring your best swings and, most importantly, bring your banter! 😂
