Welcome to the Doonhamer 10K Race 2026. You are receiving this email because you have entered to compete in the race. The race will start at 10:30am on Sunday 30th August, near the Dock Foot, at the bottom end of Dock Park. W3W concerned.crunched.both

Parking is available on the Whitesands, across from the Q Snooker Club or a little further away at Brooms Road or Whitesands Car Park. W3W marriage.thrilled.grumbling

Please note Kingholm Road is closed for vehicles, please only use the parking options recommended above. Parking is a 10 -15 minute walk to the Event village.

Registration is at the start/finish line and will be open from 9.00am - 10.15am. Please leave plenty of time to collect your timing chip and number. As this year’s race is a sell-out, there are a large number of entries to get through. At registration you will be given an envelope with your race number; timing chip, safety pins and cable ties. Help will be on hand to show you how to attach your timing chip to your shoe.

If you have pre-ordered a finisher T-shirt these will be available AFTER you have finished, if you have forgotten what size you ordered, helpfully this will be printed on your registration envelope.

A limited number of toilets will be located near the start line/registration, just outside the park.

The Hut Cafe in Dock Park will be open from 9am and provides a range of hot and cold drinks and tasty snacks. Dumfries & Galloway Aviation museum will be bringing one of their aircraft cockpits for you to explore and the DH 9 foundation will be on site to provide free CPR training whilst raising awareness of young sudden cardiac death.

There will be a race briefing at 10.20am in the start/finish area. Please make sure you attend this briefing as it will contain important health and safety information. Weather and time permitting Prize Giving will be completed after the last runner crosses the line. If you have left and have won a prize we will contact you afterwards.

Junior Park Run is on at 9.30am in the Dock Park if you are bringing any kids with you. All you need is a ParkRun barcode! Please be mindful of this when collecting your number and give them space to run on the paths safely.

📢 Did you know that the DH9 Foundation will be at Sunday’s Doonhamer 10km offering free CPR training? 🙌

The Foundation was created in memory of David Hill, who tragically died at the age of 30 from an undiagnosed heart condition.

Now a registered Scottish charity, the DH9 Foundation works to improve cardiac health in young people under 35 across Dumfries & Galloway. Its aims include:

⭐️ Advancing cardiac health in young people.
⭐️ Raising awareness of cardiac conditions.
⭐️ Supporting research into Young Sudden Cardiac Death.
⭐️ Providing cardiac screening, CPR training, & defibrillators to schools, sports clubs & community organisations.

Since becoming a charity in December 2024, the Foundation has already delivered free CPR training across the region & continues to expand its support.
