🌅🥓 EVGC VALENCIA LEAGUE – THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE POINTS! 🏆⛳️

There are early starts… and then there’s an 8am shotgun at Alenda Golf! 😳😂

Our EVGC Valencia League team were up, dressed and apparently functioning at an hour when most sensible golfers were still firmly tucked up in bed! ☕️🥱

Thankfully, Mrs Cox came to the rescue with the most important part of the morning – breakfast! 🥓🌭🥖

Navigation skills from the Captain… ❌😂

According to our Valencia League Captain, the morning went something like this:

🕗 “Ok, so I got the 8am tee time slightly wrong! That was early!”

🧭 Neil & Tony were sent to the wrong tee…

🚗 Laffers was almost misdirected off for a completely different course…

📝 Patrick may have been put down twice – although with the form he’s in, we’ll happily have two of him! 🔥😂

But despite the pre-breakfast confusion, the team got their heads in the game and came away with a fantastic…

🏆 2½ – 1½ VICTORY! 🏆

A change of scenery, a different course and a trip to beautiful Las Colinas Golf & Country Club didn’t stop our members from producing some incredible scoring! 👏

Set in a stunning 330-hectare valley in southern Alicante, Las Colinas is an award-winning championship course – and what a pleasure it was to play! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

Another great day out on the course yesterday! The summer temperatures were a little kinder, while some strong gusts of wind brought welcome respite from the heat — but also added an extra challenge for our members and guests. 🌬️☀️

There were some super scores once again, with very little to choose between the prize winners.

It’s been another busy week for the society, with lots of emails and messages going out as we head into some of the busiest weeks in our calendar. A huge thank you to everyone who has replied so quickly — your support and cooperation make organising everything so much easier. ❤️

In Memory of Keith Postlethwaite

It is with great sadness that we remember Keith Postlethwaite, whose sudden and untimely passing has left a huge sense of loss to all who knew him.

From all of us at EVGC, and from the wider El Valle community, we send our heartfelt condolences to Keith’s beloved wife Karen and to all of their family at this time.

Keith and Karen were wonderful ambassadors for El Valle, helping to shape and build the community we know and enjoy today. Keith will always be remembered as an important part of the El Valle story.

Keith was also a much-loved and popular member of EVGC. Since the sad news, so many members have shared fond memories of the times they spent together — stories that perfectly reflect the warmth, friendship and character that Keith brought to our society.

Keith will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the many friendships he made, the community he helped shape, and the countless happy memories he leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Keith.

Our thoughts, love and deepest condolences are with Karen and all the family. ❤️

⛳ EVGC Par/Bogey Tuesday ⛳

Another Tuesday, another great day of golf at EVGC! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

Today’s competition was Par/Bogey — a format where you’re effectively playing against the course, with each hole scored as a win (+), halve (0) or loss (-) against the target. The aim? Finish with the highest overall score relative to par!

And there was a very familiar name at the top of the leaderboard … clearly riding a wave after his Charity Shield victory on Saturday 👀
