In 2026, the ISTRA PlayOut Tennis Masters in P**a, Croatia will feature women’s draws for the very first time!

Dates: June 12–14, 2026

Here’s what you need to know:

GLTA Women Advocates for Better Representation 🎾

GLTA Women is committed to improving diversity and representation within the GLTA Board. To support this, European le****ns have come together and launched a petition advocating for Karolina Czyz to be appointed to the Board.

The response has been overwhelming—over 100 women have signed in support, and the letter of recommendation has now been submitted for consideration. With Karolina on the Board, we look forward to seeing fresh perspectives and stronger representation for le****ns in GLTA.

We also want to express our sincere gratitude to Rowen D’Souza, who has retired from the Board. Rowen’s dedication and contributions to GLTA have been truly appreciated.

Womens Power at GLTA Women’s Sunshine Open! Best crowd, athmosphere, sunshine ☀️ and tennis 🌈

This weekend we are looking forward to one of the legendary GLTA tournaments, the Zürich Rainbow Open, known for its strong women’s participation!

The event always promises a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere at the cozy tennis venue, where you can easily spend the entire day socializing, chilling, and, of course, playing lots of tennis. But don’t forget about the Zürich river Limmat — swimming in this river is a must! Some even say it’s more fun than most water parks.

The 2024 has been great for GLTA Women!

Here are a few pictures from the Poznan Tournament in June. Looks like tennis was played and fun was had 🤣

Today we are glad to introduce Reese Scott from the US – a lovely human being, a great tennis player and a wonderful friend. This is what she says about herself:

"I began playing in the GLTA towards the end of 2014 in the DC tournament. I honestly didn’t even know that GLTA had women’s events because there were so few in the US. Luckily, I was able to find the GLTA women in some of the most iconic tournaments like the Pinkster and Zurich Rainbow. I also got to participate in the 3 Costa Brava tournaments.

My favorite moments playing were winning double gold at the Paris Gay Games, playing in the original tournaments in Tel Aviv and Costa Brava…but my most iconic moment, that I will hold onto forever, is being selected to win the Pinkster Award in Amsterdam. The names of previous winners is a who’s who of GLTA legends. To be a part of that was special. Oh, and getting to be #1 in the world in Mixed Doubles. It’s always nice to see your name at the top of such a prestigious ranking.

I have pretty much retired from tournament tennis because of health reasons. I really don’t miss the tennis, but I miss my friends. Meeting the GLTA women in Europe was just the best part of being in the GLTA. I was so proud to see Merit get onto the Board. We worked so hard and rattled so many cages to break through and get representation for the women’s game. We have some wonderful men that support us at tournaments, but it wasn’t the same as getting representation on the GLTA Board.

Now, I just uber my soccer playing, ice skating daughter to wherever she is competing. I spend as much time with my wonderful wife Julie who has followed me all over the planet watching me play soccer and tennis. I am still working in DC for the government for a few more years as retirement beckons me soon. I am working on my PhD in Education and will likely be a professor, write books and tour as a speaker. I always hope that my health will allow me to play again even if I can’t play open tennis anymore, but it isn’t a priority. Watching my daughter grow up and all the other kids from our GLTA sisterhood is just the most fun thing to do now. Damn, they grew up quick.

My advice…play for the love of the game. It was never about the wins and losses as much as sharing life with some of the coolest people you will ever share oxygen with. You’ll miss it when you can’t play, but I have a lot of really great memories."

GLTA Women presents: Louisa Bastable-Howe – tennis enthusiast, biomedical scientist and a mother to two spaniels!

"2016 was my first experience on the GLTA World Tour at the 24th Pinkster Tournament, encouraged by Eira Guest and my long term doubles partner Sofia Antonia Milone. I won the B singles category, and haven’t looked back since (the trophy winning can get addictive 😊 ).

Playing GLTA tournaments has enabled me to meet so many new people and new places (still several on the bucket list) whilst enjoying all levels of tennis. It’s also made me favour doubles a lot more because of the energy the whole GLTA community bring, on and off the court. I now play in Open category, but plan to hang up my singles racket after this year due to too many injuries in my old age and focus on doubles!

And a quick thing about me away from balls and rackets; I work as a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in an NHS hospital, but have taken time away from the profession due to a big move from Manchester to Wales, where I live with my wonderful wife Shell and our two spaniels Billy and Ripley. We are focusing on renovating our house and living a more relaxed way of life. However, GLTA is permanently part of me, literally; Shell is an award winning tattoo artist, as proven by the Pinkster tennis player logo on my right leg!!"

GLTA women introduces: Sylvana is always happy, on court as well as off court! This is what she says about herself:

Hello I’m Sylvana from the close to .

Born in the eighties and started playing when I was 8 years old. Quit tennis when I was 18 but luckily I started playing again in 2014 at Ketelbinkie Rotterdam.

I heard of the in 2015 when I participated at the . As we didn’t know exactly what level we should enter we signed up for doubles and mixed in D. When we played the tournament we found out that we should have started in the C, but nevertheless we enjoyed the tournament so much. And from that year on I started playing every year the Pinkster Tournament. Growing from B to A, and now I am a steady A player.

Last year in 2023 was my first time playing outside of the Netherlands.
Got an invitation for the championships in . It was an amazing experience. Also manage to win the Open/A WD. And from now on I want to play at least 1 tournament outside of the Netherlands.

So that’s my tennis story. If you wonder what I do when I don’t play tennis… I play 😉 haha. Too bad there aren’t tournaments for that though.

I also have to work to provide all those lovely things. I work in the port of Rotterdam. I am an instructor for crane driver at a quay crane. Working day, evening and night shifts.
