The 2026 Euroformula Open is heading South for its traditional round ahead of the summer break at the Circuit Paul Ricard on the hills overlooking the coast of the Var department. Being in a holiday spot in high season, the good weather at this period of the year, and the crowds of holiday-makers visiting the track and coming to the traditional Summer Rooftop party on Saturday, always give a flavour of summer delights to this event, although teams are driver are not there to relax.
What really makes the Ricard round special is the challenges posed by the fast 5.842-km track, the high temperatures and the fact that it is the round opening the second half of the season, with business becoming serious in terms of battle for the title.
Concerning that, things are far from defined, with a championship leader that had a very strong start of the season but is now challenged by many contenders having raised their game, with no less than six different race winners so far.
Rui-heng Yeh is the man leading the standings by 74 points. The Taiwanese of Team Motopark, reconnected with the win (his sixth so far) in Race 3 at the Hungaroring, proving he is still in a very competitive form. His most direct rivals are three of his teammates. Diego de la Torre and Everett Stack are 74 and 82 points behind, respectively, and both the Mexican and the American have opened their win count at the last round. The leading quartet of Motopark is completed by Jesse Carrasquedo, strong of his two successes at Misano.
The race winners’ club and the top six of the standings also include the two most prominent racers of BVM Racing: Javier Herrera, the very young gun from Mexico, has proven his speed and fighting spirit with 2 pole positions and one win, and Venezuela’s Alessandro Famularo is always a candidate for victory.

Following an exciting first half of the 2026 Euroformula Open season, Motopark's Rui-heng Yeh is still at the top of the standings with an impressive six wins to his name!🏆
The Taipei-born driver leads the way on 241 points, 74 ahead of Mexican teammate Diego de la Torre and 84 ahead of America's Everett Stack.
Behind them, the fight for fourth is a close one between Motopark's Jesse Carrasquedo and the BVM duo of Alessandro Famularo and Javier Herrera. Carrasquedo sits just four points ahead of the Venezuelan, and 17 ahead of a hard-charging Herrera, who was on pole at the Hungaroring last weekend.

Rui-heng Yeh broke a 5-race period without winning by taking Race 3 at the Hungaroring this afternoon. While the lead in the championship of the Taiwanese driver of Motopark was never in discussion (he now has a 74-point margin), the drought of wins after a storming start of the season, where he took five wins in six races, was starting to raise some doubts, although Yeh never lost his composure.
Success in Race 3 was strategically built, as the Taiwanese kept his teammate De la Torre, who had taken the lead at the start, under pressure throughout the entire race, and waited for the right moment for an attack. It came at the first corner at the start of lap 15 out of 17, when tyre degradation was becoming an issue for everybody and the Mexican exited the corner a little bit beyond the ideal line.
“I stayed behind him without releasing the pressure but trying to preserve my tyres”, explained Yeh after the race, “ready to benefit from any mistake and making sure I still had something in my car and my tyres. It’s nice to be back at the top”.
De la Torre and Jesse Carrasquedo finished second and third. The two Mexicans were sitting in first row on the reversed grid, but Yeh from row two was able to pass Carrasquedo at the start. Stack was fourth ahead of Famularo, Herrera and Dobrzanski. Except for Yeh’s winning move, the order did not change, although only six seconds covered the top 7, in what was another “typical Hungaroring race”.
The only race feats to be reported were the stalling at the beginning of the formation lap of Celo Hahn, who then repositioned himself incorrectly in the grid, being inflicted a drive-through, and the contact between Jan Koller and Aaron Ferrazzano in lap 7 at turn 8 when they were fighting for ninth, an incident that ended the race for both of them.

Diego de la Torre has conquered a much-awaited and well-deserved maiden win in the Euroformula Open in today’s Race 2 at the Hungaroring. The young Mexican driver of Motopark did so in a typical “Hungaroring race”, taking the lead at the start and holding the first position throughout the 17 laps, making no mistakes and keeping up to the pressure coming from behind.
“This time was the good time”, said Diego after the finish. “This is a track where it’s easy to make a mistake, but this time I could put a faultless performance, resisting to the pressure of those behind.”
De la Torre, sitting next to Carrasquedo in first row in the reversed grid, was quick to take the lead at turn one and keep it in turn 2, despite the attack of Yeh, who had a very good kick-off from P5. Carrasquedo was third in the initial laps, followed by stack, Herrera, Famularo, Nandan and Dobrzanski.
Early in the race, Stack managed to steal third from Carrasquedo and from there the top three positions remain unchanged, despite the trio being covered by only two seconds. Herrera eventually took fourth ahead of Carrasquedo, Famularo, Dobrzanski and Keller, who made the most overtakes from last position on the grid.
On a overcast day, a few rain drops fell throughout the race, without affecting track action whatsoever.

Everett Stack authoritatively took a much-awaited first win of the season today in Race 1 at the Hungaroring. The American driver of Motopark had a very clean race, taking the lead at the start and cruising up to the flag. He was clearly happy on the podium and strengthens his second position in the standings: “At last! After winning a few races last year, I had a complicated start of the season, but today, everything went well. I took the lead at the start and after that, I saw nobody around me.”
Championship leader Rui-heng Yeh finished second ahead of an emotional Alessandro Famularo, third in the first-classified car of BVM Racing. The Venezuelan driver has been logically very touched by the terrible earthquake that has stricken his homeland. Earlier in the day he led the minute of silence held at the Hungaroring in solidarity with the Venezuelan people.
Poleman Javier Herrera (BVM) finished only fourth after dropping two positions because of a 5 –second penalty for an incident with Yeh.

To show solidarity with the people of Venezuela following the tragic earthquake, the racing community at the Hungaroring will observe a minute of silence ahead of race 1 of International GT Open.
Symbolically representing all his country fellows will be EFO driver Alessandro Famularo.

Javier Herrera goes on top in qualifying! 🇲🇽
The BVM Racing driver's 1:34.793 proved to be unbeatable, as he took his second pole position by just under two tenths of a second from Motopark's Everett Stack.
The pair will share the front row for today's race one, followed by Alessandro Famularo (BVM) and Enzo Yeh (Motopark).

The Euroformula Open started the official part of the fourth round of the season at the Hungaroring with today’s two free practice sessions, after having had the opportunity of two private test sessions yesterday. On a sunny, mild and breezy day, drivers found perfect track conditions.
The fastest man on track was Javier Herrera, the young Mexican sensation of BVM Racing, which posted a time of 1.35.192 in the morning, beating his teammate Alessandro Famularo by a small margin (+0s169). The Venezuelan sports on its car a special livery in support of his country, stricken by a tragic earthquake last week.

Mexico’s Jesse Carrasquedo was fourth-fastest (+1s336) ahead of Celo Hahn, the youngest member of the Brazilian racing dynasty, who is making his EFO debut here with BVM (+1s434), and US racer Everett Stack (+1s592).
It was a more challenging day for the two first in the championship standings, as Rui-heng Yeh (+1s592) and Diego de la Torre (+1s808) were only seventh- and ninth-fastest.
