Week 2 is in the books - and with it, another Red Deporte summer camp is officially complete! ☀️⚽️

We welcomed around 30 kids across three age groups for two weeks packed with fútbol, rugby, volleyball, and basketball activities. 2 fun-filled pool days let us beat the Madrid heat, while yoga and art workshops provided calm, relaxing environments. We wrapped up the two weeks with a Mini Olympics day 🏅 and a party with the parents 🎉🍿

None of it happens without our incredible volunteers and interns, or the support of UEFA Foundation for Children and FIFA Foundation. Thank you for believing in what sport can do. See you next year 🙌

We are proud to announce a new partnership between Red Deporte and Agrónomos Sin Fronteras, bringing together the transformative power of sport and sustainable agriculture to support communities around the world.

Sport and agriculture share the ability to empower people, strengthen communities, and create lasting opportunities. Together, we will develop initiatives that place people at the heart of sustainable development.

Agrónomos Sin Fronteras has been working alongside communities in Southern Tanzania for the past two decades, improving food security, strengthening livelihoods, and promoting sustainable farming practices. To launch our collaboration, Ioanna Sidiropoulou will travel to Iringa, Tanzania, where she will spend time with local communities, learn about Agrónomos Sin Fronteras’ work, and explore how sport can complement these programs by fostering confidence, inclusion, teamwork, and wellbeing.

This visit is the beginning of a partnership rooted in collaboration and the belief that lasting impact is created when different sectors come together with a common purpose.

Nos enorgullece anunciar una nueva alianza entre Red Deporte y la Fundación Agrónomos Sin Fronteras, que une el poder transformado del deporte y la agricultura sostenible para apoyar a comunidades de todo el mundo.

El deporte y la agricultura comparten la capacidad de empoderar a las personas, fortalecer a las comunidades y crear oportunidades duraderas. Juntos, desarrollaremos iniciativas que sitúen a las personas en el centro del desarrollo sostenible.

Agrónomos Sin Fronteras lleva dos décadas trabajando junto a comunidades del sur de Tanzania para mejorar la seguridad alimentaria, fortalecer los medios de vida y promover prácticas agrícolas sostenibles. Para poner en marcha nuestra colaboración, Ioanna Sidiropoulou viajará a Iringa (Tanzania), donde convivirá con las comunidades locales, conocerá de cerca la labor de Agrónomos Sin Fronteras y explorará cómo el deporte puede complementar estos programas fomentando la confianza, la inclusión, el trabajo en equipo y el bienestar.

Esta visita marca el inicio de una alianza basada en la colaboración y en la convicción de que se genera un impacto duradero cuando diferentes sectores se unen con un propósito común.

This summer, the Red Deporte team had the pleasure of participating in the Pass'Sport Festival in Grenoble, France, together with our partners Big Bang Ballers France through our ongoing Sport for Development project.
The festival was a wonderful example of how sport can unite people from different backgrounds, encourage intercultural exchange, and create welcoming spaces where everyone feels included. Throughout the day, participants of all ages enjoyed trying different sports, meeting new people, and celebrating the values of community and participation.
Our sincere thanks go to Big Bang Ballers France, the event organisers, volunteers, and every participant who made the day so special despite the challenging heatwave. Together, we continue to demonstrate how sport can inspire positive social change and strengthen communities.

We have finished our first week of summer camp! ⚽️☀️

Our campers (ages 5-12) have enjoyed various fun sports activities, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, capture the flag and kickball. The theme of gender equality has been at the forefront of the week!

Raquel and Ayelen led wonderful art and yoga workshops, fostering a creative environment. The pool day on Wednesday was certainly a highlight and a great relief from the Madrid summer heat! The week concluded with an orienteering activity that allowed each group to explore the neighborhood and collect Red Deporte stickers at different locations. 🎨🎉

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled second week of camp! Thank you to FIFA Foundation and UEFA Foundation for Children who have made this first week possible!

Last week, the SOCRATES project partners met in Larissa, Greece for the Facilitator Training, organised by Innovation Hive.

SOCRATES is a European project that aims to strengthen children's participation by developing the SOCRATES Compass Mechanism (SCM), a methodology that helps children identify issues that matter to them, explore solutions, share their ideas with decision-makers, and reflect on the outcomes of their participation.

The training brought together facilitators from all partner organisations to prepare for the pilot phase of the project, which will begin in the coming months with children aged 6–12 across Europe.

During the training, participants explored:
✅ The role of facilitators in supporting child participation
✅ Safeguarding, ethics, and inclusion
✅ Working with local authorities and intergenerational dialogue
✅ Practical implementation of the four SCM phases: NOTICE, EXPLORE, SPEAK and WEIGH
✅ Planning and evaluation of the pilot phase

Through practical workshops, discussions, and collaborative activities, facilitators gained the tools and confidence needed to support children throughout their participation journey.

A huge thank you to Innovation Hive for hosting such a productive and inspiring training, and to all partners for the valuable exchanges and collaboration.

We are looking forward to launching the pilot phase and seeing the SOCRATES Compass come to life with children across Europe! 🌍✨

This week, Red Deporte welcomed delegates from the International Internship Conference (IIC) 2026 in Madrid, including representatives from universities, internship providers, employers, and international organizations working to promote quality international internship experiences.

The visit was organized as part of the International Internship Network (IIN) Conference and included the participation of EUSA Director Rocío Persson Martin. Through our partnership with EUSA, Red Deporte hosts students from the United States who complete internships while pursuing their academic studies in Madrid.

This event offered an opportunity to share Red Deporte's work and the impact of our SOCRATES project. A special highlight was hearing directly from our interns, who shared their experiences and reflected on the skills and competencies they are developing through their work with Red Deporte.

Thank you to IIN, EUSA, and all delegates for this enriching exchange and for helping strengthen international cooperation, learning, and youth development through internship opportunities!

Esta semana recibimos en Red Deporte a los delegados de la International Internship Conference (IIC) 2026 en Madrid, incluyendo representantes de universidades, organizaciones de prácticas, empleadores e instituciones internacionales comprometidas con el desarrollo de experiencias de prácticas internacionales de calidad.

La visita se realizó en el marco de la conferencia organizada por la International Internship Network (IIN) y contó con la participación de Rocío Persson Martin, directora de EUSA. Gracias a nuestra colaboración con EUSA, Red Deporte acoge cada año a estudiantes estadounidenses que realizan prácticas profesionales mientras cursan sus estudios en Madrid.

Este evento permitió compartir el trabajo que desarrollamos en Red Deporte y el impacto de nuestro proyecto SOCRATES. Uno de los momentos más enriquecedores fue escuchar a nuestros estudiantes en prácticas, quienes compartieron sus experiencias y reflexionaron sobre las competencias que están desarrollando durante su estancia en la organización.

Después de un año lleno de deporte, aprendizaje y convivencia, queremos reunir a todas las familias para celebrar juntos el final de esta temporada tan especial.

Durante la tarde disfrutaremos de actividades deportivas, juegos y momentos compartidos en los que niños, niñas y familias podrán participar juntos.

🥪 Además, realizaremos una merienda compartida. Os animamos a traer algo sencillo de comida o bebida para disfrutar entre todas las familias.

🏅 Todos los niños y niñas participantes del club recibirán un diploma como reconocimiento a su esfuerzo, compromiso y participación durante el año.

Será una gran oportunidad para celebrar todo lo aprendido, fortalecer los lazos de nuestra comunidad y despedir el curso juntos.

As part of our commitment to promoting equality and inclusion in sport, Red Deporte proudly developed this awareness project to highlight the importance of standing Against Racism ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Through this campaign, we aim to encourage respect, understanding, and unity both on and off the pitch. ⚽️
