It's good to start them young on the tack cleaning jobs....
Our very good friend Rebecca came for a visit from the UK and brought her young son, who seems to be as horse mad as his mum!

SPOTTED! A gorgeous new baby to the deer in the mountains. We often catch sight of them when we are out on the trails and it's always special

Smiling faces on our popular 90 minute “Saddle Up Experience” for beginners/rusty riders. It’s fun, immersive and safe. But don’t just take our word for it….

Exploring with Pluma (and Nikki!)

Spot what’s missing?
Pluma is happy to Lunge without any rope or head collar. Free and easy and happy! Such a good girl

For those who say the horse does all the work… a riding lesson is actually quite tiring when done properly. A challenging work out for legs, core, posture, balance - it’s like Pilates on a moving 600 kg beast. This is Amanda who rides every day, is super fit but training with her young man Cael takes some energy. Staying soft but giving clear directions. It takes years … enjoy the ride with them!

Could this be the next power couple?
We love how horses share breath.
They do it to exchange scents, identify each other and build social trust. Nose-to-nose contact acts like an equine handshake, transferring chemical cues about health, diet, and emotional state.
Just like a human hello and nod, turning away helps with processing that information. It can signify non-conflict closure of the engagement or they want to reconnect again to "find out more".
it can also show security in the presence of the other, as an insecure horse would remain hyper-vigilant.
If you watch any of the wild horse groups on facebook you'll see this behaviour happening all the time in all their interactions. Fascinating!
