Vuelvo navegando por la bahía y aparece el faro. Desde tierra es una de las imágenes de Puerto Sherry; desde el agua significa algo más sencillo: ya estoy llegando a puerto. ⚓

I'm sailing back across the bay when the lighthouse comes into view. From land, it's one of Puerto Sherry's most recognisable sights; from the water, it means something much simpler: I'm almost home. ⚓

Dejo la ventana un poco abierta y me duermo con el sonido de las barcas. Por la mañana, me despierto sin despertador, bajo a desayunar y después me doy un baño. Las cosas como son: junto al mar se descansan de otra manera. 🌊

I leave the window slightly open and fall asleep to the sound of the boats. In the morning, I wake up without an alarm, head down for breakfast and then go for a swim. Let's be honest—rest feels different by the sea. 🌊

Después de un verano de millas, sal y sol, toca parar. Dejo el barco en el varadero para que lo revisen, lo limpien y lo preparen para el invierno. La próxima vez que suelte amarras quiero encontrarme un barco listo, no una lista de pendientes. ⚓

After a summer of miles, salt and sunshine, it's time to slow down. I leave the boat at the boatyard to be checked over, cleaned and prepared for winter. Next time I cast off, I want a boat that's ready to go—not a list of jobs waiting for me. ⚓

La idea era tomar algo y pasar un rato. Luego llega el picoteo, la conversación se alarga y nadie mira la hora. Para eso están las tardes en el Espacio Thai. 🌴🍻

The plan was just to stop by for a drink. Then the snacks arrive, the conversation keeps flowing, and suddenly nobody is checking the time. That's what afternoons at Espacio Thai are made for. 🌴🍻

El mar está en calma. Cojo el kayak, entro en el agua y dejo que la bahía marque el ritmo. No hace falta ir muy lejos ni saber demasiado para que una hora remando cambie el día. 🚣

The sea is calm. I grab a kayak, head out onto the water and let the bay set the pace. You don't need to go far—or be an expert—for an hour of paddling to completely change your day. 🚣

Towel, sunglasses and absolutely no intention of checking the time. A swim when the heat kicks in, something cold from the Pool Bar, and nowhere to be in a hurry. That's August at its best. ☀️

Se acabó la temporada y toca mirar el barco con calma: obra viva, limpieza, motor, pequeños golpes... Lo que se haga ahora se nota cuando vuelves a levantar la temporada. Un varadero tranquilo empieza antes de varar. 🚢

The season is over, and it's time to give the boat the attention it deserves: hull, cleaning, engine, those little knocks... What you do now makes all the difference when it's time to get back on the water. A smooth haul-out starts long before the boat leaves the sea. 🚢

Desayunar en pijama, abrir la terraza y organizar el día sin horarios. Con espacio para todos y la marina al otro lado del cristal, esto se parece más a vivir que a alojarse. ✨

Breakfast in your pyjamas, opening the terrace doors and planning the day with no schedule at all. Plenty of space for everyone and the marina just beyond the window—it feels more like living here than simply staying. ✨
