The new season of Parking Shakespeare, an annual festival of free open-air performances, begins in the Parc de l’Estació del Nord.

Each summer, the theater stages only one Shakespeare play. This year, it’s Hamlet i les coses podrides (Hamlet and the Rotten Things), a modern version of Hamlet centered on power struggles, revenge, and corruption.

The performances are performed in 360° format, with the audience seated around the actors. The production is almost completely bare-bones, focusing entirely on the text and the acting.

Many locals have been shopping here for decades, often returning to the same store their parents and grandparents visited. Despite its old-fashioned atmosphere, the quality is timeless—many people visit specifically for durable, locally made socks and knitwear.
