Today we wrapped up a fantastic cycling week! 🚴☀️
This cycling week was different than usual with a registration at the Vuelta Al Teide Gran Fondo.

For six days, we enjoyed beautiful rides, great climbs and impressive landscapes.

On Monday, we kicked off the week with a tough ride to Vilaflor, one of the highest villages in Spain, with stunning views along the way.
Tuesday included the ride to El Porís, along the coast and through the island’s rugged volcanic landscape.
On Wednesday, we headed towards Santiago del Teide, another beautiful but challenging ride through the mountains of Tenerife.
On Thursday and Friday, we took it a bit easier to be optimally prepared for the start of the absolute highlight of the week: the Vuelta al Teide UCI Gran Fondo on Saturday. 💪⛰️

This impressive race of no less than 180 km and approximately 4,400 meters of elevation gain takes you straight through the breathtaking Teide National Park, volcanic landscapes, long climbs, and spectacular descents. One of the most iconic sections is Masca, with its technical turns and phenomenal views.

To finish it off in style, Bruce and Verna both won their Master 60 category. 🏆👏

🌋 Day 1 of our Teide Challenge 🚴‍♂️

Today we kicked off a three-day trip with a beautiful climb from Güímar towards the imposing Teide. A climb that continues to impress with views over all the other islands.

After reaching the altitude meters, a wonderful descent followed via Vilaflor, where we enjoyed a well-deserved stop along the way… including pancakes 🥞

This is what cycling holidays in Tenerife are all about:
challenge, nature, experience, and of course, enjoyment.

Tomorrow a slightly easier ride to keep the legs fresh… because after that, the Teide awaits again from the South side.

Day 5 and last day was the queen stage to Teide ⛰️🔥

Today the ultimate challenge was ahead, the ascent of Mount Teide. With over 2,000 vertical meters in our legs, this was without a doubt the toughest ride of the week.

From the start, our focus was spot on. Kilometer after kilometer we climbed higher, with stunning views and beautiful weather for the entire climb. Along the way, there were several refreshment stops. Refueling, catching our breath, and then continuing upwards. Everyone at their own pace, but always with the support of the group 🙌

And at the top? Proud. Very proud. Everyone did their best and got the most out of it!
The descent brought one last challenge: cold and wet but fortunately everybody had managed to finish the ride.

We look back on an incredibly successful week. Strong rides, beautiful routes, lots of laughs, and above all, a fantastic group 🚴‍♀️

🚴‍♂️ Day 4 of our cycling holiday to El Medano

It’s a slightly more relaxed stage towards El Médano 🌊

After three intense days in our legs, this was the perfect moment to recover a bit, loosen the legs, and above all, enjoy the coast and the sun. No long climbs or high wattages today, just an easy coffee ride together to recharge for what is to come. Because tomorrow awaits the absolute highlight of our week: the ride to Mount Teide ⛰️🔥

The last day of our cycling holiday, and also the queen stage. Everyone is looking forward to it, with healthy anticipation and, above all, a lot of motivation to tackle that iconic climb together.

But first, today: recover, enjoy, and conserve energy 🙌

Day 3 was a day that felt like one of those days that stays with you for a long time. It took us along one of the most beautiful routes on the island. We set off towards the impressive cliffs of Los Gigantes, where we had our fist supply stop with views over the cliffs and ocean.

From there, we headed further inland towards Tamaimo and Santiago del Teide. The climbs were starting to take a serious toll, but the pace was good and the group stayed strong. Via the beautiful, slightly rougher roads of Las Manchas, we rode towards Chío. And there, a very special stop awaited us… At the cycling café , we came face to face with some professional riders from Team Visma | Lease a Bike. As if that wasn’t special enough, we even got to have our picture taken with them. Those are the kinds of moments you won’t soon forget as a cycling enthusiast!

After this unique experience, we got back on our bikes, with renewed energy and plenty to talk about for the rest of the ride.
