After some beautiful but windy hours, we arrived in Bot for bocadillos and tortillas. So good! Delicious fuel for tackling the remainder of the ride to the hostel in Cretas. After a 3.5 hr drive and an overnight in a hotel, @danelillo and I left Tortosa early Saturday morning among a solid group of over 20 strong gravel adventurers. The goal was to ride to Cretas, 115km away, with 2,400m worth of mountains between us. And wind. WINDY WIND WIND 🌬️ 💨 WIND! At the top of some of those climbs, so much, it blew me to a complete stop once. It made you wonder, could it actually blow me off the mountain? It obviously didn’t, but wow. This is the first 50km. Just before we stopped for lunch. I believe at this point the hardest, most technical climbs were handled. In the group were continental divide riders, gravel racers, randonneurs, and adventurers! Hi! Just returned from an overnighter bikepacking trip to Tortosa. The ride was 115km and 2,400 meters of climbing on day 1 and 53km back to square 1 of day 2.
