🚨 Another Stolen Bike. Same Technique. 🚨

This is now another reported case using what appears to be the same scam that was used to steal my parents’ bikes in northern Spain.

The cyclist joins someone riding alone, starts up a friendly conversation, and builds trust. They may invite you to stop for water, introduce you to an accomplice, or claim to be part of a local cycling group.

Then comes the question:

“Can I have a quick try of your bike?”

Seconds later, they’re gone.

The latest victim’s story is almost identical to what happened to my father, suggesting this could be the same individual or a group using the same method in the same area.

⚠️ If you’re cycling in Spain:

* Be cautious if a stranger joins you for a ride.
* Don’t be pressured into stopping at their home or meeting point.
* Never hand over your bike, even “just for a minute.”
* Keep your phone and valuables on you at all times.
