Yesterday marked our final day of Speed Runs just outside Brooklyn Bridge Marina for . Better wind conditions gave us a spectacular view, with boats reaching foiling speeds against the NYC skyline.

With just 2 days remaining until race start, the teams are locked in for a high-speed transatlantic crossing.

At The Helm: Leadership in Sport & Industry

In New York, we brought together inspiring voices from sport, sailing and business for At The Helm, a powerful conversation about what it really means to lead, both on the water and in the boardroom.

Hosted by ocean journalist Alexandra Talty, the evening brought together Francesca Clapcich Offshore Sailor, Caroline Pottash and Dawda Jobarteh, with CEO of The Magenta Project Victoria Low moderating, alongside Ocean Impact Director Lucy Hunt and Access & Equity Lead Rebecca White from and Michelle Carnevale, President of 11th Hour Racing.

The conversation explored leadership under pressure, decision-making, resilience and the lessons that come from getting things wrong. But importantly, it also went deeper; asking what it takes to change systems, not simply navigate around the barriers within them.

We heard about the changing face of sailing and the importance of creating genuine pathways for people to enter, participate and progress; from the water to engineering, boatbuilding, marine technology and the boardroom.

Because representation isn't just about getting more people through the door. It’s about changing the structures, removing practical barriers, creating opportunities and ensuring people have a genuine pathway to progress.

The challenge now is to turn those conversations into action. To continue building organisations, teams and sporting environments where everyone has the opportunity to get to the same starting line.
