“Isn’t it too late for me to start playing tennis?”
I hear this more often than you’d think.
“I’m 35…”
“I’m 45…”
“I’m 55…”
“I’ve never played before…”
And every time, I want to say the same thing:
No. You’re not too late.
Look at Dorothy. ❤️
She’s 101 years old and still playing tennis.
And that’s what I love about this sport.
You don’t have to start when you’re 10.
You don’t have to be athletic.
You don’t have to have played your whole life.
You can start at 35.
At 45.
At 55.
At 65.
And if you fall in love with it, you could still be playing decades from now.
Maybe you’re not starting “late”.
Maybe you’re starting something you’ll enjoy for the rest of your life. 🎾
So if you’ve been waiting for the “right age” to start…
This is your sign.
Don’t wait another year. Pick up a racket.
I hope I’m still on a tennis court at 101.
And maybe you’ll be there too. ❤️

The closer to the net, the better… right? 👀
Not always.
When you’re volleying, your position on the court changes everything.
🎾 DVP — Defensive Volley Position:
Use it as a transition zone. Volley and keep moving. From here you are only defending, and it’s very difficult to win the point, especially when your opponent hits to your feet.
🎯 IVP — Ideal Volley Position:
The sweet spot. You can attack, control the volley AND still have time to react to a lob. Try to win the volley as soon as you arrive here. Otherwise you give your opponent chances to hit a passing shot or a lob.
🔥 BVP — Best Volley Position:
Closest to the net. More aggressive… but also more vulnerable to lobs. It you don’t win your point here, move quickly back to your IVP to reduce chances to get lobbed.
So don’t just think:
“I need to get closer to the net.”
Think:
“Where do I need to be for THIS ball?”
Because good positioning isn’t about being closer.
It’s about having the best options.
Save this for your next tennis volley session. 🎾
And after tennis… 🤣🤣🤣
