A special encounter on one of our night dives: two Aesop slipper lobsters (Scyllarides haanii) making their way across the sandy bottom of the Red Sea. 🦞💙

These fascinating crustaceans are much easier to spot after sunset, when the reef comes alive with creatures that are rarely seen during the day. With their flattened bodies, broad antennae, and wonderfully prehistoric appearance, slipper lobsters are always an exciting find for divers exploring after dark.

This beautiful red anemone is one of the reef's most recognisable residents, standing out brilliantly against the surrounding corals and blue water. Its vivid colour and striking appearance have made it a well-known little landmark for divers visiting Woodhouse Reef. ❤️
Anemones may appear delicate, but they are fascinating animals, forming complex relationships with the creatures that live among their tentacles and becoming tiny ecosystems of their own. This particular one has even become home to a family of clownfish, adding even more life to this already spectacular corner of the reef. 🐠💙
