AIRBIKE SPRINTS
ATP CONDITIONING
Explosive Repeatability 🚀

Airbike sprints are one of the best tools for developing the ability to produce high power repeatedly, especially for combat athletes.

The primary target is the ATP energy system.
Which supplies energy for short, explosive efforts such as punches, kicks, takedowns, scrambles and explosive exchanges.

The goal isn't simply to “get tired.”

The goal is to train to:

• Produce maximal power
• Recover quickly between explosive efforts
• Maintain power output across repeated sprints
• Improve the ability to repeat high intensity actions without a major drop off

A simple example:

6 to 10 rounds
10 secs MAX sprint
50 to 90 secs easy recovery

The long recovery is intentional. We want enough recovery to preserve power and quality, rather than turning the session into a glycolytic conditioning workout.

The main goal is to be able to explode again and again and again for a long duration of time!

GATOR ROLL TO ANACONDA CHOKE

You don’t have to be in a kneeling position to finish an Anaconda Choke.

Most people try to snap down first before going for the Choke.

If you couldn't snap down your opponent to the mats, you can still do a Gator Roll to get them in a good position where you can get the Anaconda Choke

Stopping a wrestler doesn’t mean never getting taken down in MMA!

Many fighters fall apart the moment they fail to stop the initial takedown.

That’s where anti-grappling needs to go beyond just takedown defense in MMA!

Stopping a grappler in MMA means building a system that makes you harder to control, harder to hold down, harder to finish.

That system should build layers of defenses, starting with your striking position and stance.

Your stance, weight distribution, movement and striking mechanics all have to account for the takedown threat.

The goal of anti-grappling isn’t to find one magic technique that “stops” wrestling.

The goal is to make it harder for the grappler at every stage:

》Make the entry harder.
》Make the takedown harder.
》Make the control harder.
》Recover faster.
》Survive longer.
》Force the wrestler to work harder.

Because there is no magic technique that simply “stops” elite grappling.

There are only better defensive systems, better layers, and better answers to the problems the grappler presents.

Catch wrestling can always be a good recovery if the sprawl is late, just enough to get back to a strong defensive position!

This is for a strong generation of TROOPS who once gave everything to this sport.

They trained hard.
They fought hard.
They pushed themselves beyond their limits.

But life eventually demanded something else.
Responsibilities. Work. Family. Obligations.
The realities that come with growing older.

Some had to step away from the mats. Some had to put their fighting dreams on hold. Not because they were weak. Not because they stopped loving the sport. But because sometimes, life comes first.

Still, they will always be part of the TROOPS family.

Because being a trooper was never only about how many fights you had or how long you stayed in the gym.

It was about the character you built, the battles you fought and the brotherhood you shared.

FAILED SHOT RECOVERY

Not every shot is a successful shot. Learn how to recover safely after being fully sprawled to the mat:

■Move toward your underhook side to put your shoulder in a strong position while keeping your head away from the front headlock.

■Keep your thumb pointing down to reduce pressure on the shoulder as you build back up.

■Keep your head tight to his near shoulder to maintain strong posture and prevent him from controlling your head.

■Adjust your body and get up laterally rather than trying to come straight forward.

■Your rear leg gets up first, not your lead leg.

■Keep pushing him to the wall.

Now you successfully recovered! Now you can work for the takedown off the wall!

Maysara is always doing his best to improve his grappling, and this fight showed how much work he has been putting in.

He did a great job defending takedowns, recovering from the ground and finishing on top, hitting switches and reversals, and staying composed in difficult positions.
Even when he got caught in a Rear Naked Choke, he remained calm, defended intelligently to survived until the end of the round.

There still more to work on and more to develop in future camps inshallah.

Notes for the future:
● More calculated distance.
● More setups to create cleaner strikes.
● Less close range fighting to minimize unnecessary grappling exchanges.
● More and better defensive reactions and escapes.

Huge congratulations on a well deserved UD 30-27 victory!

Amazing spirit. Amazing mentality.
More is yet to come for the Flyweight King inshallah
