Pühapäeval sai lõpp-punkti 7. Paul Kerese Mälestusfestival Pärnus. Festivalil osales kokku üle 200 maletaja 25 erinevast riigist ning kokku sai lausa 378 osaluskorda. Turniiridel lõi kaasa üle 40 tiitliga mängija, kelle hulka kuulus 15 suurmeistrit. Täname kõiki osalejaid, kaasaelajaid ja sponsoreid ning ootame teid järgmine aasta uuesti festivaliga liituma. Allpool toome välja toimunud turniiride põhitulemused.

TAVAMALE
Tavamale A turniiril saavutas esimese koha Chongsheng Zeng (Hiina), teise Valery Kazakouski (Leedu) ja kolmanda Eivind Grunt Kreken (Norra).
Parim naine oli Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poola). Parim eestlane oli Ilja Haitin.

Tavamale B turniiril saavutas esimese koha Paulius Konovalovas (Leedu), teise Oleg Kalinin (Läti) ning kolmanda Gustavs Rupais (Läti).
Parim naine oli Lauma Mierina (Läti). Parimateks eestlasteks olid Karl Kristjan Reinholm ja Markkus Anderson.

VÄLKMALE
Välkturniiril saavutas esimese koha Toivo Keinanen (Soome), teise Harikrishnan. A. Ra, (India) ja kolmanda Mikita Mayorau (Poola).
Parim naine oli Aleksandra Maltsevskaya. Parim 50+ mängija oli Alexei Shirov (Hispaania). Parim U18 noor oli Daniel Beniosev (Läti).

KIIRMALE
Kiirmale turniiril saavutas kaheksa ja poole punktiga esimese koha Valery Kazakouski (Leedu), kaheksa punktiga teise Tomas Laurusas (Leedu), seitsme punktiga kolmanda Toivo Keinanen (Soome) ning samuti seitsme punktiga neljanda Alexei Shirov (Hispaania).
Parim naine oli kuue ja poole punktiga Anna Zatonskih (Ameerika Ühendriigid). Parim U20 mängija oli kuue punktiga Nikolajs Platonovs (Läti). Parim U18 mängija oli kuue punktiga Daniel Beniosev (Läti) ning U18 neiu oli nelja ja poole punktiga Julia Sinitsyna (Soome). 50+ seeniorite arvestuses sai kuue ja poole punktiga esimese koha Daniel Fridman (Saksamaa) ning viie ja poole punktiga teise Ruslan Mironov (Eesti). 65+ seeniorite arvestuses sai kuue punktiga esimese koha Oleg Krivonosov (Läti) ning viie punktiga teise Aris Ozolins (Läti).
Parim Pärnu mängija oli viie punktiga Jakob Sutt ning parim Pärnu noor nelja ja poole punktiga Hans-Georg Köösel.

On hea meel tõdeda, et festival on aastatega aina edasi arenenud. Sellel aastal oli top mängijate tase kõrgem, kui eelmistel aastatel. Samuti jätkasime teist aastat järjest LIVE kommentaaride pakkumisega tavamale turniiril. Lisaks paneme aina enam rõhku Fair Play Measure’ite järgimisele. Selle aasta festivali õnnestumisele aitas kindlasti kaasa ka väga ilus ilm suvepealinnas, mis võimaldas välismängijatel tutvuda Pärnu suvemeluga.

Eraldi soovime veel tänada vabatahtlike, kes aitasid nii korralduse kui ka meedia poolega.

Proovime festivali iga aasta paremaks teha ning ootame igasugust tagasisidet ja oleme avatud just teie uutele ideedele!

On Sunday, the 7th Paul Keres Memorial Festival in Pärnu came to an end. The festival brought together more than 200 chess players from 25 countries, with 378 entries across the events. Among the participants were more than 40 titled players, including 15 grandmasters. We thank all participants, supporters, and sponsors, and look forward to welcoming you again next year. Below are the main results of the tournaments.

CLASSICAL
In the Open A tournament, Chongsheng Zeng (China) claimed first place, followed by Valery Kazakouski (Lithuania) in second and Eivind Grunt Kreken (Norway) in third.
The best female player was Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland). Ilja Haitin was the highest-placed Estonian.
In the Open B tournament, Paulius Konovalovas (Lithuania) finished first, Oleg Kalinin (Latvia) took second place and Gustavs Rupais (Latvia) finished third.
The best female player was Lauma Mierina (Latvia). The highest-placed Estonians were Karl Kristjan Reinholm and Markkus Anderson.

BLITZ
In the Blitz tournament, Toivo Keinanen (Finland) claimed first place, Harikrishnan A. Ra (India) finished second and Mikita Mayorau (Poland) took third place.
The best female player was Aleksandra Maltsevskaya. The best player in the 50+ category was Alexei Shirov (Spain), while Daniel Beniosev (Latvia) was the top U18 player.

RAPID
In the Rapid tournament, Valery Kazakouski (Lithuania) claimed first place with 8,5 points. Tomas Laurusas (Lithuania) finished second with 8 points, while Toivo Keinanen (Finland) took third place with 7 points and Alexei Shirov (Spain) finished fourth, also with 7 points.
The best female player was Anna Zatonskih (United States), who scored 6,5 points. The top U20 player was Nikolajs Platonovs (Latvia) with 6 points. Daniel Beniosev (Latvia) was the best U18 player with 6 points, while Julia Sinitsyna (Finland) was the top U18 girl with 4,5 points.
In the 50+ category, Daniel Fridman (Germany) took first place with 6,5 points, followed by Ruslan Mironov (Estonia) in second with 5,5 points. In the 65+ category, Oleg Krivonosov (Latvia) finished first with 6 points, while Aris Ozolins (Latvia) placed second with 5 points.
The best player from Pärnu was Jakob Sutt with 5 points, and the top junior from Pärnu was Hans-Georg Köösel with 4,5 points.


We are delighted to see that the festival has continued to grow and develop over the years. This year's edition featured a stronger field of top players than ever before. For the second consecutive year, we also provided live commentary on the classical tournament, giving chess fans around the world the opportunity to follow the games in real time.
In addition, we have placed an even greater emphasis on implementing FIDE Fair Play measures to ensure the highest standards of sporting integrity. The festival was also fortunate to enjoy beautiful summer weather, allowing our international guests to experience the unique atmosphere and attractions of Estonia's summer capital, Pärnu.

Festivali kuuendal võistluspäeval toimus tavamale turniiride viimane voor ja välkmale turniir. Lisaks autasustati parimaid tavamale mängijaid A ja B turniiril. Homme kulmineerub Paul Kerese Mälestusfestival kiirmale turniiriga.

Tavamale A turniiril saavutas kaheksa punktiga esimese koha Chongsheng Zeng (Hiina), seitsme punktiga teise Valery Kazakouski (Leedu) ning kuue ja poole punktiga kolmanda Eivind Grunt Kreken (Norra). On the sixth day of the festival, the final round of the classical tournaments and the blitz tournament took place. In addition, the best players of the A and B classic tournaments were awarded. Tomorrow, the Paul Keres Memorial Festival will culminate with the rapid tournament.

In the Open A tournament, Grandmaster Chongsheng Zeng (China) claimed first place with 8 points. Grandmaster Valery Kazakouski (Lithuania) finished second with 7 points, while Eivind Grunt Kreken (Norway) took third place with 6.5 points. The best female player was International Master Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland), who scored 6 points. The highest-placed Estonian was Ilja Haitin with 5 points.
Lithuanian player Tomas Povilaitis also achieved an International Master (IM) norm by drawing with Grandmaster Tomas Laurusas (Lithuania) on board three in the final round.

In the Blitz tournament, Toivo Keinanen (Finland) claimed first place with 9 points. Harikrishnan A. Ra (India) finished second, also with 9 points, while Mikita Mayorau (Poland) took third place on tiebreaks, likewise scoring 9 points.
The best female player was International Master Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland), who scored 8 points. The best player in the 50+ category was Alexei Shirov (Spain), also with 8 points, while the best Under-18 player was Daniel Beniosev (Latvia), who likewise finished with 8 points.

The blitz tournament award ceremony will take place tomorrow (August 2nd) at 10:15, before the start of the rapid tournament.

Registration for the rapid tournament opens at 9:45 and closes at 10:15, with the first round starting at 10:30.

Festivali viiendal võistluspäeval toimusid tavamale A ja B turniiri seitsmes ja kaheksas voor. Homme on tavamale viimane üheksas voor, mis tähendab, et lõpusirge juba paistab, kuid teha on vaja veel viimane otsustav käik.

Enne viimast vooru on A turniiril 7 punktiga juhtima jäänud suurmeister Chongsheng Zeng (Hiina). Poole punktiga on maas suurmeister Valery Kazakouski (Leedu). Parim eestlane on siiani Ilja Haitin 4,5 punktiga.

Kaheksandas voorus võitis Hiina suurmeister esimesel laual väga taktikalises mängus parima naisena jätkavat Aleksandra Maltsevskayat (Poola), Kazakouski aga mustadega teisel laual
Läti naismaletajat Agnesa Stepania Ter-Avetisjanat.

Homme mängib hetkel esikohta hoidev suurmeister Zeng esimesel laual valgetega, vastas Toivo Keinanen Soomest. Teisel laual suurmeister Kazakouski valgetega Norra Eivind Grunt Krekeni vastu.

B turniiril on endale esikoha kindlustanud Paulius Konovalovas (Leedu), kellel on 7,5 punkti. Temast ühe ja poole punktiga on maas kolm mängijat. Parim eestlane on hetkel Ramon Mägi 5,5 punktiga.

Homme (01.08) algab hommikune voor kell 10 ja reaalajas kommentaarid kell 11. Tavamale turniiride autasustamine toimub orienteeruvalt kell 15:30.

On the fifth day of the festival, the seventh and eighth rounds of the classic A and B tournaments were played. Tomorrow is the ninth and final round of the classical event, meaning the finish line is already in sight – but there is still one last decisive move to be made.

Going into the final round, Grandmaster Chongsheng Zeng (China) leads the Open A tournament with 7 points. Grandmaster Valery Kazakouski (Lithuania) is half a point behind in second place. The highest-placed Estonian remains Ilja Haitin with 4,5 points.
In the eighth round, Zeng defeated the tournament's top-performing woman, International Master Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland), in a highly tactical game on board one. On board two, Kazakouski, playing with the black pieces, overcame Latvian female player Agnesa Stepania Ter-Avetisjana.

In tomorrow's final round, tournament leader Zeng will have the white pieces against Toivo Keinanen (Finland) on board one. On board two, Kazakouski, also with white, will face Eivind Grunt Kreken (Norway).
In the Open B tournament, Paulius Konovalovas (Lithuania) has already secured first place with 7,5 points. Three players trail him by 1,5 points. The highest-placed Estonian is currently Ramon Mägi with 5,5 points.

Tomorrow (1st of August), the morning round starts at 10:00 with live commentary from 11:00. The prize-giving ceremony for the classic tournaments will take place at approximately 15:30.
Registration for the blitz tournament opens at 12:00 and closes at 14:30, with the first blitz round starting at 16:30.

Festivali neljandal võistluspäeval toimus tavamale A ja B turniiri kuues voor. Juba homme on turniiri viimane kahe vooruga päev ja ülehomme otsustav viimane voor. Laudade taga tõusevad pinged ja iga käik võib muuta tulemust.

Võitluslikele partiidele vaatamata lõppesid A turniiri esimesel neljal laual mängud siiski viikidega. See tähendab, et pärast kuut vooru on oma esimest kohta hoidmas taaskord suurmeister Chongsheng Zeng (Hiina), kellel on 5 punkti. Vaid poole punktiga on kokku temast maas kaheksa mängijat. Parim eestlane on hetkeseisuga ikka Ilja Haitin, kes on samuti nende kaheksa mängija seas.

Tavamale B turniiril on ennast poole poole punktiga teistest ette rebinud Paulius Konovalovas (Leedu), kellel on 5,5 punkti. Parim eestlane nelja ja poole punktiga on Oskar Toome.

On the fourth day of the festival, the sixth round of the classic A and B tournaments were played. Tomorrow will be the tournament’s second-to-last day, featuring two rounds, and the decisive final round will be played the day after. Tensions are rising behind the boards, and every single move could change the outcome.

Despite several hard-fought games, the top four boards in the Open A tournament all ended in draws. As a result, after six rounds, Grandmaster Chongsheng Zeng (China) remains in sole possession of first place with 5 points. Eight players are just half a point behind him, including the highest-placed Estonian, Ilja Haitin.

In the Open B tournament, Paulius Konovalovas (Lithuania) has opened up a half-point lead over the rest of the field with 5.5 points. The highest-placed Estonian is Oskar Toome, who has 4.5 points.

Tomorrow (July 31), the morning round starts at 10:00 with live commentary from 11:00, and the evening round starts at 16:00 with commentary from 17:00.

Festivali kolmandal võistluspäeval toimusid tavamale neljas ja viies voor, mis tähendab, et pool turniiri on läbitud.

Pärast viit vooru on ennast A turniiril teistest ette rebinud suurmeister Chongsheng Zeng (Hiina), kellel on 4,5 punkti. Vaid poole punktiga on kokku temast maas kuus mängijat. Parim eestlane on hetkeseisuga ikka Ilja Haitin, kes on samuti nende kuue mängija seas.

Homme mängivad omavahel esimesel laual A turniiri teine ja kolmas asetus Valery Kazakouski (Leedu) ja Chongsheng Zeng (Hiina) ning teisel laual neljas ja viies asetus Harikrishnan.A.Ra, (India) ja Tomas Laurusas (Leedu).

Tavamale B turniiril on hetkel esimene Gustavs Rupais (Läti), kes on poole punktiga teistest ees. Parimad eestlased nelja punktiga on Gerret Jaaniste ja Karl Samuel Leht.

On the third day of the festival, the fourth and fifth rounds of the classic tournament were played, meaning half of the tournament is now complete.

After five rounds, Grandmaster Chongsheng Zeng (China) has taken the lead in the A tournament with 4.5 points. Just half a point behind him are six players, including the highest-placed Estonian, Ilja Haitin.

Tomorrow's top-board pairing will see the tournament's second-ranked player, Grandmaster Valery Kazakouski (Lithuania), take on the third-ranked player, Grandmaster Chongsheng Zeng (China). On board two, the fourth-ranked player, Grandmaster Harikrishnan A. Ra, (India), will face the fifth-ranked player, Grandmaster Tomas Laurusas (Lithuania).

In the Open B tournament, Gustavs Rupais (Latvia) is the sole leader, holding a half-point advantage over the rest of the field. The best-placed Estonians, Gerret Jaaniste and Karl Samuel Leht, are both on 4 points.

Tomorrow (July 30), there will be just one round starting at 16:00 with live commentary from 17:00. The morning offers a chance to relax and enjoy the summer atmosphere of Pärnu, the summer capital of Estonia. With the beach, cafes, museums, and many other attractions all within easy reach, there are plenty of ways to spend the day before the games begin.

Festivali teisel võistluspäeval toimusid tavamale teine ja kolmas voor. Kuigi võistlus alles kogub hoogu, siis pingeid jagub ja nii mõnedki reitingufavoriidid on pidanud punkte loovutama.

Pärast kolme vooru jätkavad A turniiril täiseduga neli mängijat – suurmeistrid Valery Kazakouski (Leedu) ja Tomas Laurusas (Leedu) ning FIDE meister Nicolai Maxime Ostensen (Norra) ja rahvusvaheline meister Toivo Keinanen (Soome). Parim eestlane on hetkeseisuga Ilja Haitin, kellel on 2,5 punkti.
Kahel esimesel laual astuvad homme võistlustulle neli täiseduga mängijat ning kolmandal laual reitingu favoriit suurmeister Maxime Legarde (Prantsusmaa) ja hetkeseisu parim naine rahvusvaheline meister Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poola).

Tavamale B turniiril on kõik mängud võitnud neli mängijat – Gustavs Rupais (Läti), Karl Samuel Leht (Eesti), Gerret Jaaniste (Eesti) ja Lauma Mierina (Läti).

On the second day of the festival, the second and third rounds of the classic tournaments were played. Although the competition is still gaining momentum, there has been no shortage of tension, and several rating favorites have already had to give up points.

After three rounds, four players in the A tournament remain with a perfect score - Grandmasters Valery Kazakouski (Lithuania) and Tomas Laurusas (Lithuania), FIDE Master Nicolai Maxime Ostensen (Norway), and International Master Toivo Keinanen (Finland). The best-performing Estonian after three rounds is Ilja Haitin, who has scored 2.5 points.

Tomorrow's fourth round will feature clashes between the four leaders. On board three, top seed Grandmaster Maxime Lagarde (France) will face the tournament's highest-scoring woman so far, International Master Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland).

In the Open B tournament, four players have maintained perfect records after three rounds: Gustavs Rupais (Latvia), Karl Samuel Leht (Estonia), Gerret Jaaniste (Estonia), and Lauma Mierina (Latvia).
