“Some sweeteners may not simply pass through the gut
unnoticed.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
In a large laboratory study, researchers tested 39 low-calorie sweeteners against 25 species of human gut bacteria.
About three-quarters of the sweeteners affected the growth of at least one bacterial species. Some slowed or blocked bacteria linked to a healthy gut. The team also tested sweeteners with common compounds found in foods, drinks, and medicines, including caffeine, vanillin, and the antidepressant duloxetine. They found more than 100 interactions where the effect changed when another compound was present.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
The strongest signal came from isosteviol and duloxetine.
Together, they sharply reduced two gut bacteria linked to digestive and metabolic health. This does not prove sweeteners harm people. The work was done in lab systems, not human bodies, but it suggests sweeteners may be more biologically active tb we assumed.

Cause life ain’t hard enough

25/08/2026

Social Health is the emerging science behind what many always knew: community is medicine. When we move together, the brain releases oxytocin and endorphins- chemicals that lower stress, strengthen trust and regulate our nervous system.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
The data shows that people in community-based programs show lower cortisol, better sleep, stronger immune function and higher long-term adherence than those training alone.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Maybe you don’t need a better workout, maybe we just need each other.

“An anti-inflammatory diet may offer even more protection against dementia for some older adults than the highly regarded Mediterranean diet, according to a recent study conducted in Sweden.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
The study involved 1,865 healthy older adults who self-reported their eating habits every few years for an average of eight years. Participants with an elevated dementia risk who avoided inflammatory foods had up to a 29% reduced risk of developing the condition, compared with those who were not at risk.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
However, there’s not “a single ‘miracle food,” says Anja Mrhar, a nutrition scientist and co-lead author of the study.
“The overall pattern of eating over time is likely more important.””
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Food is medicine.

Here for the aesthetics

Medicare in the US just started paying doctors to assess their patients’ physical activity levels during appointments - formally recognising exercise as a clinical intervention, not just a lifestyle choice. Australia and the UK are tracking the same direction.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Evidence- based movement programs, personalized to your health status, are becoming a standard, not a luxury. The conditions most responsive to Exercise as Medicine :
▪️Type 2 Diabetes
▪️ Cardiovascular Disease
▪️Depression and Anxiety
▪️Osteoporosis
▪️Chronic Pain
▪️Perimenopause

“Research shows we now check our phones more than 100 times per day.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Researchers have warned that teen depression rates are rising significantly. In adults, excessive screen time correlates with increased stress, anxiety, social isolation, sleep disturbances, and cognitive decline.
Our brains, evolutionarily wired for focused attention and periodic rest, are now trapped in a state of perpetual alert-scanning for the next notification, the next digital demand.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
So what to do? Researchers found that cortisol levels drop, heart rate variability improves, and mood elevates-changes you can literally measure in saliva and blood—in people who spend even short periods outdoors.
Cognitive benefits are equally striking.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
“The early internet pioneers believed technology would bring us together. But it turns out real connection, the kind that reduces loneliness, builds empathy, and strengthens communities, still happens best when we look up from our screens and step outside,” writes Jean Case, CEO of the Case Foundation.
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
“Here’s my challenge: Treat outdoor time with the same intentionality you bring to checking your email or your social media. Make it a priority every day. Take in the fresh air, listen to the sounds of nature, and trade scrolling for strolling.””
